jinx x f!isha's sister!reader
there're hardly any moments you two can get alone. with the whole of piltover after you and the whole of zaun championing your girlfriend, it's been a very rough couple of weeks.
most of your time is spent hiding out, and during that time, you're entertaining isha as much as you can. whether that be through beetle brawling, drawing, or re-dying her hair so it doesn't lose its blue. it's anything you can do to keep her happy, to keep her away from the impending war that brews on outside.
but then a moment comes along where isha disappears. which isn't entirely odd because she's been known to vanish from time to time. you've grown used to it, after years of observing her movements, and calm jinx down when her look for isha grows a bit frantic.
"she's fine," you assure jinx, rubbing at her shoulder. "i wouldn't be this calm if i knew she wouldn't be."
"yeah, but," jinx says, running a shaky hand through her hair. "it's getting dangerous out there, and isha isn't us. she's young; she's practically a baby, and people are sick fucks with deranged brains and—"
you instantly draw jinx into your arms, tugging at her until her face is in the crook of your neck. you rub soothing circles against her back, softly cooing until jinx's muttering falls silent. then her arms are curling around your waist, holding you close, as if she's scared you'll disappear too.
"i know it's hard," you say gently. "to trust that things are okay. that the people you love are okay. but you can trust me and trust that i know what i'm talking about." you lean back so you can hold jinx's face in your hands, smoothing your thumbs over the angle of her cheekbones. "so trust me on this, okay? isha's fine, and she knows what to do if she runs into any trouble."
jinx seems unconvinced, but she slowly relaxes as she nuzzles into your touch. with a heavy sigh, she closes her eyes and says, "i've...never had to worry like this before. usually, it was others worrying about me. because i was the jinx, y'know? so it's odd...feeling this way."
you hum in response, still tracing patterns into her cheeks. "feeling what way?" you ask, a little curious and jinx opens her eyes with a shrug.
"responsible?" she tries, before shaking her head. "i don't know, i just—the idea of anything happening to you or isha rips me up inside. like i'd permanently lose my mind, go absolutely fucking crazy if something bad happened to you guys."
you hum again, this time with a hint of a chuckle. but her words have your heart racing because that's exactly how you feel. it also means that what jinx is experiencing is probably similar to your experience.
that she—
"you love us," you whisper, barely loud enough for jinx to hear. but she hears it, loud and clear, as she stares at you with eyes that momentarily look powder blue.
"i...do," she whispers, just as loud, and it's enough to push you. enough to have you pull her in so you can press a sweet kiss against her lips. a kiss she reciprocates eagerly, her arms still tight around your waist, placing you in a trap you hope to never escape.
just as she licks into your mouth with a soft moan, there's a noise that startles you both. you pull apart quickly, looking around and sighing when you see that it's isha.
whose nose is scrunched up in disgust, eyes clenched shut.
you can't help but laugh loudly as jinx snorts, refusing to let you go.
"some nerve you got," jinx scolds playfully. "you couldn't have come back in like twenty minutes?"
you shove jinx, just as playful, and say, "isha, you can open your eyes."
but isha shakes her head, intent of keeping her eyes safe.
but she's smiling now, and that's all that matters.

Hii 👋 i really love your works i would eat it if i can, especially freelance inventor, will you ever countinue writing it? (Sorry if it sound rude, English is not my first language)
"So what's the deal with them?" Steph dares to ask when Bruce and Mr. Fenton finish passing out the souvenirs the inventor brought back. She wasn't sure why she was included in the gift giving, as she never even met the man before, but she now had a bowl from Irland tucked in her purse.
She's heard about Mr. Fenton through Tim and a bit from Jason. Both boys practically worshiped the ground the man stepped on. She understood that, on some level, they owed him their lives.
Jason, after being rescued from the Joker and Tim after Mr.Fenton found him on the rooftops all those years ago. She won't lie. How they spoke about Mr.Fenton painted a completely different image in her mind.
She expected someone regal, with a cold, calculating glance, who could figure out what she was expecting with a mere glance. Someone that she wouldn't be surprised if he was found tucked away in a pure white lab, working with glowing chemicals. She knows that they never claim Mr.Fenton was terrifying, but she had personally witnessed Dick threaten to tell Bruce to the man.
If he could make Batman cower by his mere mention, Steph had been expecting someone closer to what an evil version of Alfred would be.
Instead, she got a man in faded jeans, beat-up boots, and gentleness that hurt her teeth with how sweetly he smiled. If Bruce was a Bat, then Mr.Fenton could be a flower.
Gentle. Pretty. Unassuming.
Steph had logically known Mr. Fenton was a civilian. But she thought that he would be a scary one, at the least. Maybe someone in the justice system, a personal fighter like a boxer or hell, someone good with firearms.
"Hmm?" Damian glances up from his painting. Steph noticed that he has been doing a lot lately. Leaving his room to paint around the manor. She hasn't known the boy for long.
Steph had only recently forgiven Bruce for the whole Robin stunt he pulled (making her think she was his partner only to be used as bait for Tim, burned), and she wasn't around when Bruce's bio kid was found. Based on the stories Tim, Jason, and Dick shared, though, she thought he was a little more bloodthirsty.
He is more prone to violence after his upbringing, but he seemed to be shimmering down the last few weeks. Damian had apparently been given a talking to by Mr.Fenton, who took him out of the manor into the city for some "undercover training."
Steph hadn't been in Gotham then. She was busy helping a few teen titans with a mission that had her traveling to the other side of the world. But apparently, whatever harsh training Mr.Fenton had forced Damian to undergo had brought back peace to Wayne Manor.
Or as close as it could be.
He still referred to himself as the actual blood son.
"Bruce and Mr. Fenton," she repeated, nodding to where the pair could be seen conversing in the hallway. However, it looked more like Mr.Fenton was the only one talking. Bruce was too busy staring at him like he was the most fascinating thing he'd ever seen. "They seem really close, but in a weird way."
Damain's intense green eyes snap at her. She raises a brow, unwilling to let the brat see he made her flinch. "Do you have a problem with Father getting close to another man?"
It takes her a few seconds to understand why he sounds so guarded before she gasps. "It's not the gay thing! I don't care if their gay!"
"I should hope not. You come into our home and eat our food, Brown." The boy clicks his tongue distastefully. Steph has never seen someone look down their nose at someone two heads taller than them, but Damian proved it could happen. "I would not allow for homophobia to enter these halls. It is not within the rules of social justice."
"Social justice?" She repeats a little surprise that Damian was speaking to her without an insult so far. The only time the brat had bothered to talk to anyone besides Bruce had been to insult them. At least in the two months, she had seen him wander after her Teen Titians mission.
"Danny has pointed out that Father's civilian reputation is tied heavily with social justice. It would not due for his heir to cause trouble in his affairs." Damian places his paintbrush back on his canvas, sneaking glances at the window.
Curious, Steph creeps closer to take a peak and finds herself memorized by the water painting he is working on. It's Bruce and Mr.Fenton. In the painting, Bruce is staring lovingly at Mr.Fenton, who seems to be in the middle of laughing. Though neither have arms- Damian is working on those- it doesn't detract from their loving expressions.
"If it is not due to their gender, what do you find weird about Father and Danny?"
Steph considers the question before slowly getting closer, wanting to oversee the young boy splash some white into Mr.Fenton's eyes, making them appear glowing. "It's just.....weird how Bruce likes someone so normal. No training. No big fancy money. No ties to the capes. Just a man who's really good at science."
Damain shoots her a complicated glance over his shoulders before he slowly replies. "Yes. An average Joe, as you Americans would say. That is Danny."
"Right? Isn't it weird? And besides the fact Bruce is so obvious with his crush, Mr. Feton has no idea. But he can pull apart a toaster in ten minutes to curl Babs hair for her dance? Don't you think it's odd?"
Damian hums. "A true master does not need to show who they are until the blade is at their opponent's neck. But I will admit that Danny's appearance can be rather deceiving."
"Damian.....do you know something?"
The boy's face turned more complicated before returning his attention to his painting. He taps his paintbrush against his palate before he mutters. "I knew only Danny did not treat me like a rabid animal. He took me to the zoo. I haven't been outside the manor since his last visit and grew wary of these walls."
His words hit Steph like a brick. Her first instinct is to explain why it was essential to keep him here, but then she thinks more about it, and her teeth slam shut.
Crude, has she been acting like Bruce? Had she really allowed him to convince her that a child should be locked up like it was nothing? Then again, Damian isn't a prisoner here.
Even if he was, she helped break him out.
"Say, kid, you want to come with Tim and me to the mall this afternoon? I think they have an art store."
Damian twists around to stare in utter shock. For all his training, he really is just a kid because Steph can see the genuine yearning in his eyes as he tries to casually cover up his reaction with a regal shoulder shrug. "I suppose I will have time for more undercover training."
Strange, Steph thinks while texting Tim about Damian joining them. Mr. Fenton hasn't even spoken to me that long, and he already changed how I viewed Damian. Is this why Bruce is into a civilian?
#dcxdpdabbles#Freelance inventor#dc x dp crossover#Part 5.5#Steph's pov#Damian knows about Danny#But thinks it's impolite to say#Steph can't explain all the tension between Bruce or Danny#Danny's effect on the family is ripples

- BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL
Sophia Laforteza x reader | (request)
"You and Sophia hate each other, but maybe it's not quite like that..."
Genre – Fluff Warnings – Not reviewed (sorry, I'm sleepy)
Now playing – Still Into You, by Paramore
A sigh of breath came from your lips as soon as you parked your car in front of the house of one of your childhood friends. The moonlight illuminated part of the street and when you turned off the headlights of your car everything seemed to have become a little more tense. Getting out of the car, you took a deep breath, bottle of red wine in hand to at least say that you brought something to the small party.
When you rang the doorbell, your whole body shuddered, not only because it was a little cold outside, but because of the anxiety of seeing all your childhood friends together again, especially one of them.
When the door opened, you froze, staring intently at the person who had opened the door for you. Sophia Laforteza, in all her glory. Many might say you were sworn enemies in high school, but you couldn't disagree more.
"Oh, it's you..." Her tone showed that maybe she hadn't let go of the little disagreements you had.
Giving an awkward smile, you watched Sophia move out of the way, a silent permission for you to enter. The house was full of conversation and laughter, and before you could think of what to say to Sophia, one of your longtime friends clung to you.
"YN!" Maya screamed, hugging your neck with excitement. "I didn't know if you would actually come, you seem to be always so busy with your company. Come on, come in." the woman said, pulling you by the wrist.
If you had turned your face, you would have seen Sophia roll her eyes, walking up to one of the closest friends she had at school and collapsing next to her on the couch.
"Wow, it feels like you've come back with one of the heaviest energies I've ever felt in my entire life. Who was at the door? O Nosferatu?” Abby, Sophia's friend, asked.
"Worse, Yn." Sophia said, crossing her arms like a tantrum child.
"Yn? Like, that girl who had a crush on you?" Abby asks, taking a sip of her martini.
"She didn't have a crush on me, she hated me. She always tried to steal my roles in school plays. Not to mention when she tore up the letter someone wrote to me on Valentine's Day." Sophia's gaze was watching the kitchen, maybe she wasn't in her right mind, and just maybe she wanted to throw the hollow of the coffee table on your head.
"Girl, that girl liked you, I'm not crazy. By the way, I'm always right, remember?!"
"What? Don't you remember how it happened?"
- High School, Manila – six years ago.
At that school, every sixteen-year-old's dream was to get a Valentine's Day letter. It was a school custom for a post office to be made during Valentine's Day, so when the day came, everyone would write letters to the people they had a crush on, and that letter would be delivered to each other's lockers during class.
With the classroom still empty, Sophia and Kylie talked freely, cheerful and super excited to see if their passions had sent them something.
"I don't know, I just wanted Yn to stop being so boring and like me, at least a little bit." The young Sophia said, organizing the materials for the next class and leaving them metrically positioned on the table.
"I've already told you that I think she only does all that to get your attention." Abby said, looking at herself in the mirror as she smeared lip gloss.
"You'll still admit that I'm right, Sophie." Abby said, making Sophia roll her eyes at the nickname. "Do you think Dylan likes my lip gloss?" The girl asked.
"He'd be an idiot if he didn't like it." Sophia says, making Abby laugh. "It seems lovely to receive a letter from him."
"He's adorable." Abby said, a cocky tone coming out of her words.
"I don't think he likes me." Sophia said, pointing to a pencil, so she wouldn't have to do this during class.
"Of course he likes you, he's just shy." Abby said, not wanting her best friend to think bad things about her boyfriend.
"yes, it could be." Sophia said, not paying much attention to the words of the girl next to her.
"Anyway, let's hope you get your letter today." Abby said, making Sophia laugh lightly as she shook her head.
While Sophia and her friend laugh at the conversation, Yn enters the room, accompanied by Zack, one of the nerdy boys who always hung out with her. Choosing Sophia's back seat, Yn sat down, and the Filipino girl observed the girl's different behavior.
"Have you finally decided to pay attention in class instead of sleeping in all of them?" Sophia asked, her tone sounding too sarcastic for Yn.
"Why don't you take charge of your life." Yn said, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair, making the Filipina furrow her brows at her. Turning in her chair, Sophia missed something very important, the sigh and the look of sadness that Yn had on her face.
After school was over, young Sophia was crossing her fingers. Sophia had asked her faithful friend, Abby, to open the door to her closet, wanting to be quick to pick up the letter, but too afraid to look first. The Filipino girl had her back turned, and when she heard the soft creak of her closet door, only one question crossed her mind.
"And then? Is there something in there?" Sophia asked, the tone of her voice evidenced how nervous she was.
"Yes." Abby said, positioning the letter she had ordered inside Sophia's closet, in front of the Filipina's face.
Sophia's breathing was quickened, her hand rose and her hand was aching, tingling to have the letter finally in her possession. As Sophia's fingers brushed against the envelope's paper, a gust of wind hit her, and along with it Hurricane Yn. On top of her battered skateboard, Yn had just stolen the letter from Sophia's hands, paddling her feet faster on the ground, practically flying with the board on wheels.
"YN! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
Passing like lightning through the students, maneuvering and dodging all possible things, Yn tried to go faster. Looking back, the problem girl saw Sophia running towards her, like an angry bull, a bomb about to explode, like anything that could hurt a lot, and Yn was the target.
Luckily, some students passing through the front door of the school kept it open, giving Yn easier access to the parking lot. With the passenger door open, Yn's nerdy and rich friend, Zack, was waiting for her, nervous that one of them would get into serious trouble. When the boy finally saw Yn coming towards him, he quickly shouted, warning Yn that Sophia was right behind her.
"YN, COME BACK HERE!" Sophia screamed, still trying to reach the girl, who was now hanging from the door of Zack's Jeep.
"SORRY!"
It was the only thing Sophia heard Yn say before the car accelerated.
"Now do you remember? You ran with me, the whole school thought we were crazy!" Sophia said, finishing remembering the story to Abby.
"It doesn't matter, we were children. I remember very well how you wanted to receive a letter from her that day." Abby countered Sophia's line, making the woman roll her eyes. "You always rolled your eyes at me in high school, and I was always right."
"There's no way she'll like me." Sophia muttered.
"There's no way she'll like me." The same phrase was repeated in the kitchen.
Yn, who had now begun talking to Maya and Zack about her complicated relationship with Sophia, took a big sip of the beer she had in her hand, trying to forget what a little disaster she was when Sophia opened the door.
"I never understood, why did you steal her letter anyway?" Maya asked, making you look at Zack.
Seeing as you were looking at him, the man quickly prepared a shot of tequila for you, which you readily accepted. The liquid burned your throat, and when you finished feeling the consequences of alcohol in your system (just for now), you hit the small empty shot glass on the counter.
"Let's go..."
Games has always been one of your favorite topics of conversation with Zack, but when you got close to the classroom, something a little more interesting caught your eye.
"He's adorable." Abby said, a cocky tone coming out of her words.
"I don't think he likes me very much." Sophia said, pointing to a pencil, so she wouldn't have to do this during class.
"Of course he likes you, he's just shy." Abby said, not wanting her best friend to think bad things about her boyfriend.
Stopping abruptly, you began to pay attention to the girls' conversation. Zack, slightly confused by your extravagant, looked at you as if to ask what was wrong.
"What are you doing? Let's go in." Before he made the presence of the two of you recognized there, you grabbed him by the back of his shirt, putting your hand on his mouth as he tried to protest.
"Shut up and listen." You whispered aggressively, causing your friend to raise his hands in surrender.
"yes, it could be." Sophia said, not paying much attention to the words of the girl next to her.
"Anyway, let's hope you get your letter today." Abby said, making Sophia laugh lightly as she shook her head.
That was it, all was lost, your plan to deliver a letter to Sophia and finally confess your feelings to her was over. Every time you tried to do projects in pairs, discreetly changing the teacher's list of names, or every time you auditioned for the male role in a play just because Sophia would narrow down as the princess who needed to be saved, all of that had gone down the drain, she liked another boy.
Finally understanding what was happening there, Zack put his hand on your shoulder, your sad look made the boy feel bad for you.
"I'm sorry, Yn." Zack said, trying to comfort you about your first broken heart.
"Alright, I mean, at least she doesn't know I like her, it would be a clime." You said, laughing falsely as you tried to mask your pain.
When Zack was going to tell you not to pretend, your eyes widened, a sensation taking over your body, making you shiver from head to toe, the only thing your mind weighed was that Sophia could NEVER see that letter.
"Zack!" You whispered aggressively, grabbing the shoulders of the boy in front of you. "She can't see the letter!" You said, shaking your best friend's shoulders.
"Hey, I'm going to get dizzy..."
"As soon as class is over, wait for me in the parking lot with your car running! I have a plan." You said, dropping Zack and entering the classroom.
"After that, I think she started to hate me even more." You said, taking one more shot. Grabbing a plastic cup with something Zack mixed.
"But you know what, I don't care, I don't feel anything..."
Without paying much attention, you ended up missing the moment when Sophia entered the kitchen, turning around just in time and spilling all your crazy drink on her clothes. Her mouth was open, the perfect shape of an 'o', just like Zack and Maya's.
"Sorry, I..." You couldn't even finish the sentence, the Filipina was already going up the stairs towards the bathroom.
With a sigh of defeat, you rubbed your hands over your eyes, thinking about why you couldn't do anything right when it came to Sophia.
"Go over there." Maya said, pointing with her drink towards the stairs.
"I can't, she'll tear me apart." You said, crestfallen.
"Or you can finally have a conversation as adults and sort out whatever high school craziness you have to sort out."
Taking Maya's words as an encouraging, you walked determinedly upstairs. When you came face to face with the bathroom door, leaning your body completely against it, you let out a deep sigh, before finally knocking.
"It's Yn..."
"Go away, Yn."
One more sigh. Maybe those shots were a bad idea, now your head hurt.
"I'm sorry. Not just for the drink, for everything. I was really stupid, I just thought it was the best way to get your attention, but then you started hating me, and I can't shut my mouth." You keep talking as you slide through the door, sitting in the middle of the hallway.
"It was all a bad idea, I shouldn't have stolen the letter from you, I shouldn't even have sent it..."
As soon as you closed your mouth, the bathroom door opened. You fell on your back with a dull thud and groaned as your head hit the ground with some force. As you sat down again, you were sure that those shots were a bad idea.
"Were you the one who sent the letter?" Sophia asked, genuinely interested in what you had just said.
"It's... I..."
"Yn, was that letter yours?" Sophia approached, lowering herself to your height and looking at you with a look you had never seen on her face.
"Yes." You confessed, another sigh coming from your lips, followed by a sob, which left you half embarrassed. "I heard you talking about another guy that day, you know, when I was walking into class." You confessed, another sob coming out of your lips, making you lower your head so that Sophia wouldn't see how embarrassed you were.
"Wait, man? I wasn't talking about any guy..."
"Yeah, you were talking about how sure you were that he didn't like you, and then Abby made sure he did. I was just scared of ruining something you really wanted."
Analyzing your words, Sophia couldn't believe it. You liked her too, you were both hiding your real intentions for fear of something silly getting in the way. Finally remembering the conversation she had with Abby that day, Sophia started laughing, it was a little funny and sad to think that the two of you could have been together all this time.
"I was talking about Abby's boyfriend, you stupid." Sophia said, pushing your chest, making you look at her with a confused expression.
"So you didn't like any guys?" You asked, making Sophia deny it with her head.
"No. In fact, I really wish you had sent me a letter that day, if you had arrived a little earlier to eavesdrop on my conversation, you would have listened." Sophia said, sitting next to you and touching her shoulder with yours.
"You know, I never wanted to go into the theater to steal your role in the cast." You said, another letting a sob escape. "I wanted to be your date."
Smiling, Sophia looked at you, the Filipina's gaze going down your chest, until it landed on your hands, which were on your lap. With a slight smile on her face, Sophia took your hand, intertwining your fingers with hers, making you look into her eyes for the first time.
"Do you still want to be?"
Hey guys, sorry for the delay with the requests, I'm trying hard. But lately I've also been very busy taking care of my farm and my WIFE Haley, we have a son now, her name is Ani (like anora)
Anyway, now seriously, I'm trying to make the requests, but I'm trying to enjoy my vacation, in a little while my college classes start and then it will get more complicated.

Sorry for the long hiatus. My meds for my bipolar disorder have made it very difficult to have inspiration/motivation for anything aside from normie activities.
Anyways I have a lot planned for this year! Hopefully you guys enjoy these works that have been in the backburner for a while while now. Love yall.
Without further ado, here’s a little drabble/some hcs as appetizers.
YANDERE BATFAM x HAREM! READER
tw/cw: DID coded shenanigans. Multiple Readers converge from my other works. Confusing fuckery. Yun writing without his meds. Featuring @sophiethewitch1 ‘s loser reader from What We Want. Mad Genius! Reader.
inspired by: The Herta (Honkai Star Rail) and a lil Iron Man.
Okay it but wouldn’t it be fucking hilarious if Reader gave the boys a harem of their own.
Like perhaps they’re just this immortal genius that creates puppets. Each with its unique personality and looks. But all of them share one thing, a love for their creator and the batfam. (And are all under your control…mostly)
Let’s start with your failures shall we? After all, the most precious thing to a genius like you, is your mistakes. However few or many there are.
You created Cat Villain! Reader as a test. No flashy powers beyond invisibility and teleportation. What you did give them however, was a whole load of sass and mystique. Something that drew in the Robins pretty well at first, but they soon lose interest in favor of … well
another work of yours was Alien! Reader. The goody two shoes with a dark side. (You couldn’t make them perfectly straight and narrow, that would have been far too boring). But Alien! Reader started dating Damian way too quickly. And everyone seemed so happy with the arrangement that you quickly ended it all. Swiftly killing your puppet in a fit of boredom. (Don’t worry, you kept some spare parts in order to rebuild them later on if such a whim caught your fancy)
Now, What We Want! Reader was special. It took a lot of time, effort, and whole butt load of money. Crossing dimensions was a lot more difficult than you thought it would be. But of course, in the end, your perfect self managed to pull through.
Replacing the original What We Want! Reader with a puppet that housed a soul from another world? Genius. Absolutely brilliant. You should reward yourself with how smart you are.
Unfortunately the boys got too excited and locked her up. Almost removing your access to one of your favorite experiments! How could they?
And so you send her back home. Safe and sound (and ready for part two!)
While looking through other dimensions, a certain manga/anime caught your eye. Makima! Reader was inspired from the character herself. And Bruce’s lack of participation and eagerness in some of your previous tests. And so you made his utter nightmare. One who killed when it was necessary and kill you did.
Unfortunately Makima! Reader almost made [Favorite DC Villain] pass away and you wouldn’t want that happening, don’t you?
In getting What We Want! Reader to your dimension you failed to account one of your stupid puppets getting into the collider by accident. And thus was What’s Up Danger? Reader was born.
You let it roam free for the most part, but for some reason time seemed to loop around them meeting the batboys for the first time and would never go beyond it. (Probably cause the author hasn’t updated in a dozen amber eras at this point)
Exasperated and in dire need of some fun in your life. You bring back all the readers one last time.
And oh, the chaos that ensued was one for the ages.
Finally, a success.

Gonna be honest, you had me nodding along until "because of Tiktok, Trump won". Like, are we gonna ignore Elon Musk here? And the fact that Trump almost certainly interfered with the election??
At a certain point it seems like you devolved from an actual thoughtful analysis on history to tired old "kids are all stupid idiots and Tiktok is inherently bad" type rhetoric. I'm mostly confused about how you took the time to explain how we Americans were intentionally led into reduced literacy levels by this point, but then don't offer any sort of compassion or empathy to that point?? It's just, oh Americans are all stupid and illiterate, especially the kids, which definitely has nothing to do with long COVID. It's all our fault this happened.
Our youth have been purposefully and systematically failed, and I won't ever fall into the trap of making generalizations about them because of this.
The bottom line is, we haven’t all just been falling for the propaganda that’s been forcibly shoved down our throats our whole lives! Trump never would have won this election without what was likely illegal interference, and the evil cowards who ensured he could be sworn in despite being impeached twice and being a convicted felon.
I can promise you all as a young American myself, we didn’t want this. Most of us didn’t want this. The bigoted, illiterate white folk is simply the loudest and most dangerous group here, and unfortunately they also control our government, so they get the most attention. But please, keep the rest of us in your hearts. I know we could have done more, tried harder to prevent this, and I’m so sorry. But a great deal of us aren’t just “fucking STUPID” or whatever; we’re horribly tired, and scared, and many of us are disabled and struggling just to stay alive.
Not to mention, those of us who want to stay informed and literate are constantly fighting against waves of propaganda and rhetoric, telling us that everything is fine, it’s okay to not think critically about things, go ahead and use AI (especially so our shareholders can get their money back). It’s not an easy feat.
Things around the world are going to be much much worse for a minimum of four years now that Trump is in office again, and those of us who care will do our best to stop what’s happening. But please, all I ask is that you remember that Americans aren’t a monolith any more than people in any other country are, and that a great deal of us are the victims of a cruel system. Under the current state of things the average citizen has basically no power; to the rich elite we’re nothing more than fodder that can be used and crushed and thrown away at their whims, and they’ve made sure that the current system allows them this power without challenge.
Things are rarely as simple as the easiest answer makes them appear to be. Those of us who haven’t fallen into complacency will keep trying to fight for a better world, but most of us are terrified and exhausted and don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to do. I’m sorry.
To my Asian, European, African, and Canadian friends...do y'all wanna know how the United States found itself under a fascist, Hitler-loving dictator named Donald Trump?
In another post, I started my timeline in 1980. The year I was born. But, it was also a turning point in US politics.
First, let me share my credentials.
- Bachelors of Arts - History
- Juris Doctor - Public Interest Law (Critical Race Theory)
- Masters of Philosophy (research degree) - Sociology (Race, Ethnicity, Conflict)
Just recently, we buried President Jimmy Carter, who was the president, when I was born. Jimmy was from Georgia, like my grandmother, and he came from a Southern Baptist background. Southern Baptists are known for being very conservative Christians who did not support abortion.
Jimmy, despite that background, actually supported LGBTQ rights by lifting a federal ban. He supported Roe v. Wade which protected access to abortion. And, he established the federal Department of Education.
However, Jimmy had an antagonistic relationship with Congress, and that alienated several Democrats, including Ted Kennedy, who was the brother of John F. Kennedy, a president who was assassinated.
The Kennedy family has an established name brand due to JFK and Robert F Kennedy (another brother and JFK's attorney general who was also assassinated). Ted was the younger, drunken brother who caused the accidental death of a college friend.
In 1980, Ted challenged Jimmy for the presidency even though they were both Democrats. Jimmy has the incumbent shouldn't have faced a challenge from his own party, but he had just been that bad.
So, this internal strife weakened the Democratic Party entering the 1980 election. In that same year, Jimmy boycotted the 1980 Olympics in Russia due to Russia's invasion of Afghanistan. Furthermore, there was a recession.
The Republican Party nominee was a former Hollywood actor turned politician named Ronald Reagan. Ronald was the governor of California and was trailing Jimmy in the polls until a presidential debate in which Ronald used his acting skills to make Jimmy seem incompetent.
Ronald believed in "trickle down economics." He believed that if the wealthiest people were taxed less, then they would spend more, thus boosting the economy and allowing prosperity to "trickle down" to the working & Middle class.
He also believed in increased military spending as this was the height of the Cold War with Russia. My own parents voted for Reagan because my dad was in the military.
Instead of trickling down, the wealthy just grew wealthier. Republicans continued to lower taxes for these individuals and businesses, so the money never trickled down. Social services were underfunded & unemployment increased. Reagan's response was to blame Black "welfare mothers" for abusing the system.
Republicans latch onto this. They implement work requirements for government assistance and make it harder for folks to pull out of poverty. As a result, a wealth gap separated white folk from the rest. White folk felt their hard earned money was supporting lazy white & Black folk, so they continued to constrict welfare programs.
[Section added] During Reagan's term, an unknown illness is killing young, gay Black & Latino men. It's AIDs. Reagan deemed it a gay disease that only affects gay people, so no funding is allocated to study this disease. It's viewed as retribution for their homosexua lifestyle. However, overtime, they learn about HIV once non-gay men were infected. Children die from the disease because blood is not tested for it, so some are born from it through their mothers while others were given transfusions.
Under Reagan, the Fairness Doctrine ends. Under this doctrine, news agencies had to report both sides of an issue. Because of this, television stations can now present one side. Fox News opens as a conservative network.
Ronald is well-loved by white folk. He gets elected to two terms. By the end of his term, the economy has recovered, and white folk are prospering. Then, his VP, George H.W. Bush, is elected.
Under George I, the Cold War ends, but we have the Gulf War in Kuwait. He signs trade agreements that result in several American companies, namely the auto industry, to shutter their doors and build factories overseas. This is due to a change in tariffs!
Millions of Americans lose their jobs as factories close. Detroit, as the leading auto manufacturer city, is devastated. Back in the 90s, Detroit was the 4th largest US city after Chicago. These factory closures hit the Midwest, especially hard.
This makes Bush unpopular. He is challenged by a young, charismatic Democrat named Bill Clinton.
Bill was a southerner like Jimmy, but Bill was a very well-known ladies' man. Bill appeals to Black Americans, though, and that allows him to defeat George.
Bill continues expanding trade agreements. He's a fiscal conservative despite being a Democrat, and under Bill, military spending is reduced.
[Section added] The rise of AIDs leads to further hate directed at the LGBTQ. During the 90s, several queer people are murdered. One such kid was Matthew Shepard. A college kid in Wyoming, he is beaten by a gang of white men. His family was terrorized so much, that they couldn't bury him because of fears his grave would be desecrated.
[A white woman Bishop in DC invites Shepard's parents to bury him in their graveyard. That Bishop is Marian Edgar Budde, the same Bishop who gave Trump his inaugural sermon this past week. She pleaded for Trump to have mercy on the queer community because she was the Bishop who buried Shepard!]
Bill is a popular president. The economy is booming, but he's still a lady's man, and he gets in trouble with a college intern.
This scandal adversely impacts the last few years in office so much so that his VP, Al Gore, loses the presidency to George W. Bush.
George Bush won the Electoral College while Al Gore won the popular vote. There was such a tiny margin that there were numerous recounts because of faulty ballots (hanging chads). Eventually, the Supreme Court intervenes and tells them to stop the count and certify George as president.
George II is the son of George I.
George II is a popular Texan with swagger. He wants to build up the military once again.
Clinton left a surplus of money, so what did George II do? He implemented tax cuts for the wealthy. That damned "trickle down economics" again. The wealthy get wealthier, increasing the wealth gap between white folks and everybody else.
They cut taxes while cutting social services. One of his biggest "achievements" was a restructuring of our educational system called "No Child Left Behind."
NCLB emphasizes test scores. School administrations are penalized if they don't meet these standards. They lost funding, so electives such as home economics, art, Music, etc are trimmed to make room for these test standards. By this time, my dad has retired from the military and is a school principal, and I remember the stress of trying to meet these standards.
These standards emphasize STEM at the expense of liberal arts. This is happening just as the internet becomes available to all.
Amazon opens as an online used book store. Facebook is started as a college message board. There's a tech boom, so everyone is being pushed into tech fields. Liberal arts education was devalued.
During his term, 9-11 happens. We declare war on Afghanistan. Islamophobia spikes. Fox News helps drive this narrative. Christianity is now being pushed into schools, whereas schools were previously secular.
[Section added] In 2004, the assault rifle ban was lifted. Now we are seeing a dramatic spike in school shootings. The Far Right embraces the expansion of the 2nd Amendment.
Then, we go to war in Iraq.
We aren't quite sure why we're at war with Iraq. We overthrow Suddam Hussein (from the Gulf War). George declares victory, then terminates the Iraqi Army.
This triggers an insurrection. Massive casualties are coming out of Iraq. The war in Afghanistan is overshadowed.
George serves two terms, but his VP is so unpopular that he doesn't run for president. Instead, the Republican nominee is John McCain.
Two Democrats fight for the nomination. Hillary Clinton, the wife of Bill, and Barack Obama.
Barack was a young, biracial Senator from Illinois. I attended law school in Illinois, and one of my classmates had been his legislative aide. I met Barack twice while a student. The first time, he had come to campus to propose a college-savings account. After his press conference, I latched onto his arm and refused to let go until he heard me, and I explained that his proposal was unrealistic because it assumed that a single mother would have the resources to save for an education when it was more likely her money would go towards groceries & rent or other immediate needs. (Fast forward two-three years, and the dude is repeating my line during the State of the Union! I had changed his mind!)
Barack beats Hillary for the nomination. He defeats McCain and is sworn in as the 1st black (not Black) president.
Obama is popular and well-loved by most Americans. Under his tenure, gay marriage is legalized.
Fox News triples down on their hatred.
Their network booms. They push Islamophobia 24/7. Highlight the fact that Obama's father was Muslim and that his middle name was Hussein.
Older Americans are watching program after program of this negativity. A movement starts called the Tea Party movement, which positions itself as a fiscally conservative movement. A bankrupt slumlord with a reality TV show gains popularity with these folks.
I wrote my master's dissertation on the Tea Party movement. It's called "Jesus and the White Man."
Donald Trump
Donald latches onto the Islamaphobia. He calls Barack by his middle name and questions his birth certificate. Donald grows popular with older Americans.
At the end of Obama's term, the son of VP Biden dies. This devastated Biden. He had lost his infant daughter & first wife in a car accident. He decides not to run for president.
Obama supports Hillary.
It is now Hillary v. Trump.
Trump pushes misogyny and Islamaphobia. Hillary is Bill's wife and a woman. She is the most qualified presidential candidate to ever run (at that time).
During Obama's last year in office, Justice Antonin Scalia* dies. Obama has the privilege to nominate that next Justice, but Mitch McConnell stalls through the election.
But older white Americans were barely okay with a black president. They were not about to let a woman serve as President. At the same time, an organization called Cambridge Analytica began to fine-tune an ultra conservative agenda.
With the help of Russian intelligence, they use Facebook ads to try to persuade voters to support Trump. They succeeded with white folk, but they did not succeed with the Black vote.
Russians used African bot farms in order to try to persuade Black Americans to support Trump. We rejected him at 90%.
Donald wins the Electoral College but not the popular vote.
Donald is a corrupt and ineffectual president. He tried to bribe foreign leaders and shared US intelligence with Russia.
However, as a populist, he latches onto the Christian Right. He nominates 3 Supreme Court Justices who lie during their confirmation hearings. These Justices will ultimately vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The Christian Right love this. But then COVID hits and the incompetence of Donald leads to millions of deaths. These Christian folk refuse to get vaccinated or wear masks.
Donald is an unpopular president and ranks as the worst president of all time.
Biden challenges him and wins.
Donald refuses to accept that he lost, so he organized an attempted coup. January 6th.
He's impeached. Twice.
McConnell refuses to take the step to have him permanently barred from office.
Biden takes office when COVID is still rampant. The Christian Right continue to push their agenda, seeking to remove protections for the LGBTQI.
Right wing media generates a lot of money. Podcasters jump on the bandwagon. Red pill content spills into the mainstream.
Kids who were isolated during COVID are now at home watching Joe Rogan & Theo Von. They spend hours upon hours on TikTok.
But unbeknownst to these kids is the history of Russian interference.
Schools emphasize STEM. They don't emphasize liberal arts or social sciences such as history or literature. The literacy rate plummeted to an all-time low. The average white American's reading level is at the 4th grade. They aren't able to engage in critical thinking.
They don't know the history of the Spanish Influenza. They don't know the history of a trade war that triggered the Great Depression. They don't know that our government has imprisoned citizens in internment camps. They don't know Hitler's rise to power.
In fact, Fox News frequently features individuals who deny the Holocaust.
Russia move their troll farms from Facebook to TikTok, where the algorithm serves as an echo chamber. Uneducated, illiterate folks gobble up 30-second videos but can't be arsed to watch anything over 5 minutes so complex issues are stripped down to sound bites.
The algorithm pushed right-wing fascist talking points. They rehabbed Donald while shifting Gen Z to the far right. They do not know how to verify information for themselves, so they gobble up misinformation and disinformation.
If a TikTok creator has millions of followers with thousands of views and likes, these kids assume that that info is factual. They do not vet shit for themselves.
Russia pushed anti-American propaganda that posed as pro-American talking points. Pushed isolationism. Pushed anti-democratic rhetoric. In fact, one of their greatest accomplishments is convincing Gen Z and uneducated, white Millennials into thinking we aren't a democracy.
We are a fucking Democratic Republic. Our constitution begins with: "We the people".
So, because of TikTok, Trump won.
That's why Biden was pushing for it to be banned before the election. The algorithm was being corrupted. But folks couldn't part from their addiction.
Folks who had been anti-Trump just 5 years ago are suddenly Trump supporters. They were brainwashed.
So, how did we get here?
We got here because most Americans are fucking STUPID.
#us politics#american history#idk maybe i'm just one of these dumb americans that never learned critical thinking skills#(which are certainly real and a big problem btw!)#but i can never get behind posts like these that just generalize americans as stupid and call it a day#man a lot of us are doing our best and we just happen to live here lmao#and making tiktok out to be the biggest reason trump won feels very iffy to me#also like#lmao biden's administration wanted it banned because of pro-palestine content on tiktok not because of any right wing shit being pushed#that's all verifiable#also my last point i swear but i'm really suspicious here with the constant talk of “russia”#instead of the russian government specifically#sorry but i'm never going back to passively believing an entire country is my enemy#i have far more in common with my russian friend than i EVER will with any rich powerful american#to my fellow dumbasses in the usa: be sure to befriend ppl in other countries where you can okay?#propaganda is easier to resist if you have outside perspectives#plus cultural exchange is really fun!

Javier Peña Masterlist
Javier and you had agreed to go for dinner with Steve and Connie. You agreed to meet after work, but Javi didn’t know about your evil plan. To be honest you hadn’t even planned it this time, it happened innocently. You went to the Beauty Salon earlier that day to do your hair and nails to go on this double date without thinking much about it. You chose your favorite color which happened to be his favorite color on you, but you swore it wasn’t on purpose.
When Javier and Steve arrived you were already sat by the table having a conversation with Connie about daily life. He came to you and kissed your temple. “Hola, corazón. How was your day?” He asked as he sat by your side and took your hand in his. Before you could answer he was talking again as soon as his eyes met your beautiful hands and done nails. “You had your nails done. This color suits you so well…”
“Did you like it? I really didn’t think much about it.” You shrugged. Whoever listened to your conversation would see it as an innocent one between husband and wife, but you knew better than this. You knew something had shifted in there.
“It’s beautiful, mi amor.” He kissed your hand, his warm breath and lips imprinting in the back of your hand.
During the whole dinner, Javier couldn’t just sit still. He was restless and the fault was on you and your pretty hands. Because of that, once you stepped home and he closed the door, he got you pressed against it and his lips on yours. “Why did you do that, nena?” He asked his lips hovering yours.
“What? I did nothing.” You answered breathlessly.
“You know what. Painting your nails so pretty and the color you know I like on you.” He pecked your lips, peppered your jaw… “You’re such a tease, it can’t go like this…”
“What are you going to do to me?”
He laughed dryly. “Me? Cariño, I’m doing nothing. You’re going to work to pay for this.” He pressed his bulge against you, impossibly hard, just waiting the whole night to be relieved by you.
He picked you on his arms and sat on the couch, you straddling him. He kissed you one more time, he could never get enough of you, but he had urgent matters at hand. Or better speaking at your hands. He stopped the kiss, you almost whined at the loss. “You know what to do, amor. Use your hands.”
Your hands traveled from his face down his neck and shoulders. You stopped when your hands reached his chest, your delicate fingers working on the buttons of his shirt, you needed to see your man’s torso. “That’s not the place I want your hands on, corazón.”
“A girl can indulge herself, can’t she?” You replied as you opened his shirt completely exposing his chest, your hands tentatively reaching his pants. You slipped your hand on top of his crotch making him hiss. He was so hard, he was probably in suffering. “Don’t worry, cielo. I’m taking care of you.” You said, the spanish endearment word rolling easily from your lips after all those years of marriage.
You unbuckled his belt skillfully and following it you unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, sliding it and his briefs together down his legs. He sprung against his abdomen proudly standing. So pretty and tempting, you really want to shove it inside your mouth and savor it.
Your hands gripped it delicately, but for Javi it felt so intense he groaned and had to hold himself to not start bucking his hips against your hands. Your delicate fingers around him and the colors of your nails contrasting to his skin made the act look so glorious that he was ashamed to say he could cum just with the sight. You moved your hand along his shaft till you reached the tip, red, angry, asking to be ravished. You smeared some pre cum that was already leaking but you’d need more. You looked up at Javier and expectation covered his face.
You started opening your mouth and before you could do anything he spoke. “Don’t use your mouth, nena. Only your hands.”
“Tempting, but I wasn’t.” You replied and once again opened your mouth letting spit fall from it and hit his rocking hard cock.
“Fuck…” he groaned. “Bebé, you’re gonna kill me.”
You smirked. He was going to live, he never died of it. Your spit ran down his length in a very slow pace. With your delicate manicured hands you ran his length up and down spreading the humidity along him, making your job easier. One hand was never enough, you always needed both to pleasure him.
Rhythmically you moved your hands up and down while he observed you working on him, sometimes you went slower, others faster and from time to time you gave some attention that the head and also to his balls. “Do you like it, babe?” You asked, your hands torturing him in a teasing pace.
His hips bucked against your hands, his cock moving on its own in your fists. “I love it.”, he practically whined. Your hands felt so good around him, you already knew him so well… you were the only one that could make him feel this good. He had one addiction and it was you, he could never get tire. “Faster, amor. Faster.” He begged.
You’d do anything for him. You increased your pace, your hands frantically moving around him. His pre cum leaked some more helping on the process, and you ads spit to it other times although you’d rather have it inside your mouth. As if the gods had listened to your prayers, Javier spoke. “Nena, open your mouth. I wanna cum in your mouth.”
Eagerly you opened your mouth taking him inside, the warmth of your cave welcomed him so well. If he could chose, he’d like to die like this. Inside you or in this case inside your mouth. He was holding a little letting you have some fun, he knew how you enjoyed going down on him, sucking his tip as if it was a sweet succulent fruit just to little by little take his length on your mouth, your plush lips looking so pretty around him while your hands hold his base and his balls, sometimes his thighs. The way your eyes would fill with tears when he hit the back of your throat…
He started twitching inside your mouth, his groans increasing, he was so damn close! Some ministrations from you and trusting from his hips and he was coming down your throat while you made sure nothing was wasted.
As he descended from his high, he brought you back to his lap, tangling his fingers in your hair and kissing you passionately. “Te amo, mi Reina.” He said with devotion, his forehead against yours, like he had done many times before, and you would never get tired of listening to it.
“I love you too, mi vida.” You replied as always.

Heyyy, i’ve got an idea for a Lando x reader fic!
Basically Lando and the reader have been friends their whole life since their parents are good friends and they go on vacations together all that shit. And the reader has had a crush on Lando for some time now and what she doesn’t know is that Lando likes her too and one night they’re celebrating midsummers (or whatever) and he tells her he likes her and they kiss and talk all night and cuddle and stuff like that, but the next day Lando is ignoring the reader and pretends like nothing happened and goes on to ignore her for like a good year or two until one night they talk and he says he’s sorry for all that and they have their happy ending. Super angsty and sad but fluff at the end!
Don’t feel obligated to write this if you don’t want to, it’s just something i came up with and could never write myself (i can’t write to save my life) but i really like your fics and thought you could!
I‘ve missed this
Summary: Lando confesses his love on midsummer night but pushes you away for years before finally apologizing and winning you back.
Genre: angst, fluff
Lando x f!reader
TW: None!
A/N: DW girl I got your back!! again sorry that you had to wait! School is kicking my ass and I’m about to crash out because of my driver license (that shit is expensive af) English is not my first language. I hope you enjoy it though! Requests are open and welcome!
Masterlist pt. 2
The golden glow of the midsummer sun bathed the lawn in a warm, ethereal light. Strings of fairy lights crisscrossed overhead, and laughter filled the air as family and friends celebrated another year of togetherness.
You sat at the edge of the garden, the sound of the waves from the nearby lake mingling with the music. Your eyes scanned the crowd until they landed on him—Lando Norris.
He stood by the fire pit, laughing with a group of friends, the amber glow highlighting his cheekbones and the soft curls that framed his face. You’d known him your entire life, thanks to your parents’ friendship. Vacations, holidays, birthdays—he’d always been there, your constant companion.
And somewhere along the way, you’d fallen for him.
It wasn’t just his boyish charm or his crooked smile that made your heart race. It was the way he made you laugh when you wanted to cry, the way he always seemed to know what you needed without you having to say it.
But he didn’t know how you felt. And you weren’t sure he ever would.
“Why are you sitting here alone?”
His voice startled you, and you turned to see him standing there, hands shoved in his pockets. He tilted his head, a playful grin tugging at his lips.
“Just… thinking,” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady.
“Thinking, huh?” He dropped down onto the grass beside you, his knee brushing yours. “Care to share?”
You hesitated, glancing down at your hands. “It’s nothing important.”
He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Come on, you can tell me anything.”
You looked up at him, your heart skipping a beat at the way his eyes sparkled in the fading light.
“Alright,” you said, forcing a smile. “I was just thinking about how much has changed since we were kids.”
His expression softened, and he nodded. “Yeah. Feels like yesterday we were building sandcastles and arguing over who got the last popsicle.”
You laughed, the memory warming your chest. “You always took it, by the way.”
“Only because you let me,” he teased, nudging you gently.
Silence settled between you, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. The sounds of the celebration faded into the background as you both stared at the lake, its surface shimmering like molten gold.
“I’ve missed this,” he said suddenly, his voice quiet.
“Missed what?”
“Us.” He turned to you, his eyes searching yours. “It feels like we’ve both been so busy with life lately. I hate that we don’t get to spend as much time together anymore.”
Your chest tightened, his words hitting a tender spot in your heart. “Me too.”
He reached out, his hand brushing yours. The simple touch sent a jolt of electricity through you, and you had to fight to keep your composure.
“There’s something I need to tell you,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Your breath hitched, your heart pounding so loudly you were sure he could hear it. “What is it?”
He hesitated, his gaze dropping to your intertwined hands. “I’ve been trying to find the right moment to say this, but… I like you, Y/N. More than a friend should.”
The world seemed to stand still, his words hanging in the air.
“You… what?” you managed to say, your voice shaking.
He smiled nervously, his fingers tightening around yours. “I like you. I have for a while now. I just—”
You didn’t let him finish. Before you could overthink it, you leaned forward and pressed your lips to his.
For a moment, he froze, and you thought you’d made a terrible mistake. But then his hands cupped your face, pulling you closer as he kissed you back with a fervor that made your head spin.
When you finally pulled away, both of you breathless, he rested his forehead against yours.
“Wow,” he murmured, a soft laugh escaping him.
You smiled, your cheeks burning. “Wow.”
That night, the two of you talked for hours, sharing secrets and dreams you’d never spoken aloud. When the celebration wound down, you ended up curled in his arms under the stars, your heart feeling fuller than it had in years.
The next morning, you woke up with a smile, memories of the night replaying in your mind. You couldn’t wait to see Lando, to talk about what this meant for you both.
But when you went to find him, he was distant.
At breakfast, he barely met your gaze. Throughout the day, he kept conversations short, avoiding any moment that might leave you alone together.
By the end of the week, he was gone, leaving you with a hollow ache in your chest.
The weeks turned into months, and the months stretched into years. Lando’s career in Formula 1 took off, and you watched from afar as he became a household name.
He texted occasionally, but it was never personal. Just polite pleasantries, as if you were mere acquaintances. The memory of that midsummer night haunted you, the unanswered questions gnawing at your heart.
Why had he pulled away?
It wasn’t until two years later, during another midsummer celebration, that you saw him again.
He was standing by the same fire pit, his posture tense as he stared into the flames. Your heart ached at the sight of him, the familiar longing resurfacing like a wave crashing over you.
Before you could stop yourself, you approached him.
“Lando.”
He turned, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of you. “Y/N.”
The sound of your name on his lips sent a shiver down your spine.
“Can we talk?” you asked, your voice steadier than you felt.
He hesitated but then nodded, leading you away from the crowd to a quieter spot by the lake.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The tension between you was palpable, years of unspoken words hanging heavy in the air.
“I’m sorry,” he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.
Your throat tightened, and you looked away. “Why, Lando? Why did you pull away? After everything that happened… I thought—”
“I was scared,” he admitted, cutting you off. “That night… it meant everything to me. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much I had to lose if I screwed things up between us. You’re my best friend, Y/N. I couldn’t risk losing you.”
Tears welled in your eyes, his words both a balm and a dagger to your heart. “So you thought ignoring me for two years was the better option?”
“I thought it would be easier for both of us if I put distance between us,” he said, his voice thick with regret. “But I was wrong. God, I was so wrong.”
You wiped at your eyes, the weight of his apology sinking in. “Lando… do you have any idea how much that hurt me? How much I missed you?”
He stepped closer, his hands trembling as he reached for yours. “I missed you too. Every single day. And I hated myself for what I did. But I was stupid and scared, and I didn’t know how to fix it.”
Your heart ached at the vulnerability in his voice. Despite everything, you still loved him.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, his forehead resting against yours. “I’m so, so sorry.”
You closed your eyes, your tears mingling with his. “You really hurt me, Lando.”
“I know,” he said, his voice breaking. “But I swear, I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if you’ll let me.”
For a moment, you hesitated. But then you thought of the boy who’d been your rock for so many years, the boy who’d held your hand when you were scared and made you laugh when you wanted to cry.
“I missed you,” you whispered, your voice trembling.
He pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly as if afraid you might disappear. “I missed you too.”
That night, as you sat by the lake with his arms around you, the pain of the past began to fade.
For the first time in years, you felt whole again.

The Difference Between Men and Boys - Kim Do-Hyun x Fem!Reader (NSFW)
Follow up piece to:
The Choices We Make The Beauty and her Beast
Synopsis: Kim Do-Hyun tries his best to stay away from you. But a chance meeting at a bar leads to a night neither one of you will forget
The bar reeked of stale alcohol and sweat; the floor covered in a permanent sticky residue from the countless drinks that had been dropped on the cheap tile. Kim Do-Hyun was drunk, for the first time in years. He’d always been able to handle his liquor, had always known when to stop. The biggest part of his job was staying in control, and alcohol hindered his ability to maintain focus. He’d always known when enough was enough, but lately he didn’t seem to care.
He hadn’t seen you since that night at the bar. He’d left for his next mission the day after, trying to block you entirely from his mind. But as hard as he tried, he couldn’t let you go. He’d brought with him the jacket that you’d worn as he walked you home, the faintest traces of your vanilla perfume still lingering. If he closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, he could picture you so clearly. His men could tell something was off; their boss was still as sharp and ruthless as ever, but there was sadness behind his eyes. They knew better than to bring it up with him though; Kim Do-Hyun wasn’t a man who shared personal information, not even with his closest comrades.
He'd been back in Seoul for 6 weeks now, forcing himself to avoid your restaurant. Not seeing you was causing him physical pain, one that made his chest ache and his eyes burn. He’d barely been home since he arrived back, flitting from woman to woman, spending a few days with each of the girls he met on dating apps. He knew what he was doing, trying a fill a void that simply couldn’t be filled. These women weren’t you. Their laugh didn’t light up a room, their eyes weren’t brighter than all of the stars in the sky. Their very essence didn’t make him want to sink to his knees; not like you did. It was killing him being away from you, but you were better off without him.
He’d lost count of the number of drinks he’d had, his night a blur of beer and shots. The woman he was with had a shrill, piercing laugh, her acrylic nails digging into the bare flesh of his arm, like she was scared he’d try and run away if she let go. He wanted to run, wanted to run to you, but he couldn’t allow himself to damage you that way. You were too innocent, too pure and good for a monster like him. He was a murderer and a thief, looting and killing for his own gain, as well as the gain of powerful, corrupt men. He didn’t deserve you; he deserved to be in the dank, damp bar with a woman who he couldn’t stand, while he slowly drank himself into the abyss.
He didn’t notice you a few tables away, your face illuminated by the pink and purple neon lights above the bar. You were sitting on your own, nursing a drink as you wiped away the last of your tears. It had been weeks since you’d seen Do-Hyun. He completely vanished after he had saved you, and you couldn’t help but think you’d done something wrong. You missed him, missed his presence, however infrequent it had been. This was the longest you’d gone without seeing him, and it was tearing you in two. You’d decided to give the dating apps a try in a desperate bid to get him out of your head. You’d matched with someone who seemed nice enough online, but in person left far too much to be desired. Your date had been a chauvinistic pig, spending the whole evening talking about himself and his many achievements, though you doubted most of the stories were true. You’d only had two drinks before he invited you back to his, and when you politely declined, he told you in no uncertain terms how unattractive he’d found you and that he was only asking you back because he felt sorry for you.
You couldn’t bring yourself to go back to your apartment, to the crushing silence that would inevitably envelope you. You knew you’d think of Do-Hyun, and you knew you’d break your own heart all over again. You weren’t even sure why you were so hung up on him. Your relationship had always been purely platonic, and yet you felt almost drawn to him. You sipped your lukewarm wine, playing the events of that night in your head again and again. Maybe he’d realised you were too weak, just a pathetic girl who couldn’t fend off a few rowdy drunks. He seemed like he’d be drawn to a mature, confident woman, not a girl who daydreamed about trekking mountains.
You looked up, and that’s when you saw him, hunched over the bar with a beer in his hand. A woman clung to him; her crimson red nails clutched around his bicep. Your eyes met at the same time, the world seemingly ceasing to turn.
Do-Hyun could tell you’d been crying. Your lips were puffy, and your eyes were bright with tears, your foundation streaked. He could barely hear the nasally screech of the woman next to him, so entranced by you. You couldn’t take your eyes off each other; every sight, sound and smell that wasn’t you completely gone from his mind.
“Go home,” he told the woman next to him, pushing his stool back. “What?” She laughed, her face falling as he pried his arm from her taloned grasp. “I said go home,” Do-Hyun snarled. “We’re done here.” He knew he was being a prick, but you were the only one who mattered anymore. You’d been crying, and he was going to find out who’d made you cry. And once he had, he’d make that person wish they’d never been born.
“You’re back,” you said, your voice hoarse with tears as he approached you. “I’m back,” he replied, sliding into the booth next to you. Your black velvet dress was impossibly short, the fabric riding high up your thighs. You looked good tonight, and Do-Hyun knew he was fighting a losing battle with his conscience. “Who made you cry?” he growled, his hand cupping your chin as he surveyed your tear-streaked face. You were still so beautiful, your fragility making you seem even more so in the pale neon lights of the bar. “Some asshole,” you mumbled, “it’s fine.” “It’s not fine,” he spat, “What did he do to you? Did he hurt you?” Do-Hyun could feel himself losing control, could feel his anger rising to the surface. He was usually so level-headed, but when it came to you, he seemed to lose all sense. “No,” you shook your head, “not like that anyway. He was just rude, and… he said some things… but it doesn’t matter, honestly.” “Tell me what he said.” Do-Hyun’s hand still cupped your chin, his sharp gaze piercing into you, like he was staring directly into your soul. His domineering presence was turning you on, igniting that fire in your belly as he commanded your attention. You couldn’t look away, didn’t want to look away from the man who made everything else in the world seem so insignificant. “He asked me to go home with him, and when I said no, he told me I was ugly anyway, and that he was only doing it because he felt bad for me.”
Do-Hyun’s hand tightened around your chin, making you gasp. His thumb traced the outline of your lip, eliciting the softest, sweetest moan he’d ever heard. He’d regret this tomorrow, but tonight he needed to act on his desires. He needed to show you that man had been wrong; he needed to show you how badly he wanted you. “That’s because he was nothing but a boy. Do you know the difference between boys and men?” His finger traced your top lip now, your body trembling at his touch as you shook your head in answer to his question. Your eyes never left each other’s, the tension between you almost suffocating. You weren’t entirely sure you were breathing as he leaned in to whisper in your ear. “Boys don’t know how to treat a woman. But men do. It’s what we live for.” His lips brushed your earlobe, sending a shockwave of heat from your head to your soft, aching core. “Show me,” you whispered, your hands trembling you brought them up to rest on the back of his neck. “Show me how you’d treat me.”
Do-Hyun kissed you, hard. Months’ worth of pent-up frustration passed between you, your hands roaming each other’s bodies as his tongue met yours. His fingers traced a line up your thighs, teasing you through the thin fabric of your underwear. “Take me home,” you breathed, your breath hitching as he hooked a finger behind your lacy garment, sliding it deep inside you. His mouth swallowed your moan, and you wondered if anyone could see, or whether the table blocked the view.
You were so wet, so tight, and Do-Hyun knew you’d likely get caught, but his need for you far outweighed his common sense. He wanted you in his bed, your legs spread for him while he showed you just how much you meant to him. “Come with me,” he smiled, removing his finger from your tight core and placing it gently to your lips. You parted them for him, moaning as he slid the digit into your mouth. He’d always thought you were so innocent, but you were anything but.
The taxi journey back to his was hazy, the two of you so lost in each other. He carried you up the stairs to his apartment, stopping every few steps to pepper kisses down your jaw and neck. No one had ever treated you like this, had made your whole body burn with pleasure. You could sense his desperation for you, could feel it in the way he kissed you. Tonight, someone had made you feel so ugly, but right now Do-Hyun was making you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
He sat you down on his bed, peeling your dress away from your body. Your curves were exquisite, the outline of your breasts and hips against his sheets driving him crazy. How your date had turned you down earlier was beyond him. But it was his loss, and Do-Hyun was going to show how much better off you’d be with him.
He kissed every inch of your body, starting from your forehead, down to your toes. Your skin was alight, every atom of your being tingling from his touch. He worked his way back up the delicate skin of your calves and inner thighs, before sliding your underwear down. You were soaking for him, your wetness dripping onto his sheets as his tongue traced through your slick folds. The sound you made as you cried out was fucking heavenly, and Do-Hyun moved his tongue against you in confident, assured strokes. “So fucking wet,” he whispered, his fingers sliding into you as you arched your hips. “Be a good girl and let go for me. I want to feel you come undone on my fingers.”
His authoritative tone was unlike anything you’d heard before. He could somehow boss you around and yet make you feel so special at the same time. “Don’t hold back,” he growled, his thumb pressing into the sensitive nub of your clit as he coaxed you towards the blissful edge. “I know you’re a dirty girl. Show me how dirty you are.” The sound as you came for him was guttural, your body wracked with blissful sobs as your soft walls contracted around his thick digits.
“Such a good girl,” he whispered, stroking your cheek softly as you came down from the edge of ecstasy. “So good for me.” Your body shook for him, your hands pulling his face to yours. Your desire for him overwhelmed you, driving you to the brink of insanity. “Fuck me,” you pleaded, so desperate to feel him inside of you. “Please. I need you.”
He surveyed you, shaking on his sheets as your wetness leaked down your thighs. He’d never felt like this with any of the random women he’d brought back before, had never been so enamoured with a person before. He couldn’t deny you anything, not when he wanted it so badly as well. “Think you can take it?” he teased, his cock aching as he watched you nod vigorously. He removed his underwear, lining up against you as he pushed himself inside of you.
The feel of him stretching you out was perfection, the feel of his hips thrusting into you bringing you to the brink again almost instantly. He filled you so perfectly, the tip of his cock hitting a spot deep within you that no one had ever reached before.
Your whimpers were his undoing, the sweet sounds punctured by each thrust of his hips. His body shuddered as he painted your tight walls with his seed, your fingers gripping his hair as he made sure you took every last drop of him.
He held you that night, whispering sweet nothings into your ear. He told you how he always went back to the same restaurant because of you, how he thought of you on his long trips away. He told you he wanted to make you happy, to show you how a real man behaved.
As the effects of the alcohol began to wear off, and the harsh light of day broke over the horizon, Do-Hyun knew he was in too deep. But even as he sobered up, he realised he didn’t care. You were everything he wanted, the only thing that mattered to him in this cursed life. it was selfish of him to want you when his life didn’t allow for normal relationships. But he could no longer deny himself, not when he’d had a taste of you. he really was a monster, enchanting an innocent girl, knowing full well he didn’t deserve her.
But Do-Hyun was hooked on you, and nothing would ever be able to tear him away.

Friendship In Escape
Summary: Steve Rogers x fe!Reader -> After escaping a party, you meet Steve Rogers. It's in a simple conversation, you and him find common ground and from that a friendship grows. Question is, will either of you ever find the courage to act of the underlying feelings?
Disclaimer: This is a LONG one. Spoilers ahead for most of the main Captain America/Avengers films from The Avengers. Also, there's probably a lot of plot holes in this fic so we're just gonna ignore them. Slow, slow burn. Angst-y moments. Found family, fluff, taking care of each other. Some swearing. Reader helps Steve adjust to the modern world. Lots of hugging. Probably spelling and grammar mistakes but we're gonna ignore them, too (it's late and I'm pretty sure my brain is fried). Hope you enjoy it <3 Not proof read.
The party had been humming to life for an hour or more before the honorable host finally showed his face. Dawned in a big name branded suit, Tony Stark stood at the top of the stairs, calling for people to start the party.
There was meant to be music, laughter, too many drinks and a fight he’ll be able to tell a story about at the next party. And you were sure, by the end of the night, he’d get his wish.
This party in particular had been the third you’d been dragged along to in the space of a month. It hadn’t changed since you were a child.
Posh names belonging to posh people with deep pockets and, when the time called for it, had long arms, too. The amount of money that was gathered from parties like this were worth the events being held.
But never once had you felt comfortable.
It wasn’t the shoes or the dress. In fact, getting ready was the best part of the night. But being dragged to the same people, with the same stories, being told about the same single people in their family, their sons, nephews, cousins. Being told to stand and take a picture with a smile that will let everyone know how fun the parties are.
But they weren’t.
For others they were. But for you? You had more fun spending time alone in the libraries at University, studying, answering company emails and working, mostly, from behind the curtain.
If you could have done that, you would have avoided the parties all together. Relationships with other businesses were already solidified and had been for almost fifty years.
So, after the fourth hour of walking around the gala room, standing and being forced to listen to the same conversations that you’d heard your whole life, listening to people be more interested in what Tony Stark had placed around his hosting room, and being introduced to another twenty something with a multi-billion dollar company behind his family’s name, but no integrity, you found your escape.
“Darling, where are you going?” Your mother asked as you handed her your drink.
“Just to the bathroom.”
She gave you a smile. “Hurry back. Sandra told me she’s bringing her cousin. Special invite from Mr Stark himself.”
You forced your millionth smile of the night and nodded. “Will do.”
As you took the stairs up towards the upper floors and bathrooms, you looked down over the edge of the balcony. They were preoccupied, listening to somebody’s story.
Rather than taking a right, you took a left, bumping into a waitress.
“I’m so sorry. Are you alright?”
She nodded. “Can I help you with something?”
You looked around you. “Just promise you didn’t see me. I need a break.”
The waitress just smiled. “There’s some rooms that haven't been decorated yet. Just take a right at the end of the hall.”
You looked down the hall, looked back and smiled at her. The first genuine smile of the evening.
“Thank you.”
She shrugged. “This is my fifth party helping the host. We all need a break every once in a while.”
You thanked her again before walking down the hall. The minute you turned the corner, the party seemed like it was miles away. Every once in a while, you heard a roar of laughter but it never got any louder than that.
With a sigh of relief, you decided to explore the different rooms. Some had tarp over the entrances, the insides not being suitable to survive at least an hour in. From holes in the floors to fresh paint fumes and drying plaster.
But then one at the very end of the hall had a door. So, taking your chance, you opened it.
“Oh!”
Inside stood a man dressed in a woolen style suit, his tie loose around his neck. He looked as if he’d been pacing and deep in thought before you’d opened the door.
“I-” You looked around you, fearful you were about to get into trouble. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know anyone- Sorry.”
“Trying to escape the party, too?”
You stopped trying to close the door and looked at him. You couldn’t put your finger on it; maybe it was the way he stood, maybe it was the tone in his voice or maybe it was the way he was looking at you, but you saw something trustworthy in him.
An unlikely friend in a place where you had none.
“What gave it away?”
He smiled, softly. “You’re welcome to stay, if you’d like.”
You stepped inside. “Thank you.”
“I- I’m Steve, by the way.” He held out his hand and you shook it.
“Y/n.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
For the second time that evening, you gave a genuine smile. “Likewise. So, what are you hiding from? A match-making mother, or a business minded father?”
“Neither.” Steve laughed a little.
You walked further into the room before finding a spot with less sawdust on the ground. You’d been on your feet for a long time. You found the perfect spot against a wall between two windows.
“Wow,” you brushed what sawdust you could with your feet before turning around and tucking the skirt of your dress down. “Sounds like there’s a story there.”
He chuckled. “Not a big one.”
You shrugged, stretching your legs out and crossing them at your ankles. You patted the ground beside you. “My parents want me to socialise. I’d say talking with you qualifies as that. I’ve got time.”
Steve smiled as he watched you, finally agreeing to sit beside you.
And for the first time in almost a month, you weren’t bored.
Talking and listening to Steve didn’t make you so bored out of your mind you would have rather ran a cross country race. Talking with Steve was the first time you felt comfortable at one of these fancy galas.
You’d come to learn that he was, in fact, the man they’d dug out of the ice. That he was the soldier lost to time, being forced into a new century without any idea how to deal with it.
“I know a little of what that’s like,” you admitted to him. “To feel lost. I’ve been attending different parties like this since I was a kid. And never once have I felt comfortable attending them. I can talk to everyone in the room and feel completely loney, but I can sit on my own in a quiet place like this and…feel comfortable and be myself.”
“I had that once.” Steve told you. “I’d say back home, but I’m still in the same country. To be honest, I don’t know what anything is outside of this room.”
Then an idea popped into your head. “I could help.”
“How?”
You shrugged. “I could help you adjust. I’m no therapist but I know how most things work in the 21st century. Movies, media, books. You said they gave you a document packet?”
Steve nodded, reaching into his jacket and pulling out a folded over thick document.
“With all the stores and street names, I don’t recognise anything anymore.”
Opening it up, Steve handed it to you. It had an address, some pictures, different appointments and different wifi codes.
“I know where this is.”
“You do?” Steve seemed surprised. They’d given him the address three days ago with no instruction on how to find it. They just told him something about Google Maps. Whatever a Google was.
You nodded. “It looks kinda old.”
Steve shrugged. “‘Guess it’s their way of giving me some familiarity.”
You shook your head. “When do you move in?”
“End of the week.”
“I’ve got a meeting in the morning, but I can take the rest of the day – help you move in, if you’d like.”
Steve looked at you. “You’d really do that for me?”
You handed his document back and nodded. “I would. Just because you were given an image for them to control, doesn’t mean that they should take advantage of the person you are behind it all.”
“That’s really kind of you, ma’am.”
You smiled. “Don’t mention it.”
For an hour more, you and Steve just talked. Filled with quiet laughter and genuine smiles, you and Steve found an unlikely friendship in each other that evening.
A friendship that would only grow stronger and stronger over the years.
At the end of that week, you met Steve outside the SI building before walking with him towards the underground and pointing out different landmarks for him to recognise. A university campus, a museum, a deli store that served the best sandwiches. You explained about the times for the trains that headed towards the different states. Finally, walking down the different streets, Steve started to recognise a few different places. New businesses stood in their places, but the bricks around them were the same.
“Pretty sure I got beat up in that alley.”
You followed Steve’s eye-line before looking back at him. “Bet your mom was beside herself with the amount of times you came home with a black eye.”
Steve held a reminiscent smile on his face as he looked at his shoes. “Just a kid from Brooklyn who was too dumb enough to run away from the fight.”
You watched Steve for a moment; something in his tone told you those weren’t just his words.
“Come on, we’re almost there.”
You took Steve’s hand, leading him down the street before you both arrived at the apartment block. A couple of younger kids were playing out in the street, kicking a football around until they scored it round the corner of the building, one of their mother’s yelling to play in the back.
A guy with a coffee cart served passers by heading back from their lunch break, on the corner.
Unlocking the front door, you and Steve walked up the first few flights of stairs before finally reaching his new home.
As Steve opened up the door and walked inside, he was met with a living space that probably hadn’t had someone live there…maybe ever. The furniture seemed old, the kitchen table was rusting a little at the bottom of the legs and the curtains had seen better days.
A few boxes had been stacked by the entrance way with different labels scribbled on them.
You rifled through them. “Bed sheets, books, clothes.”
You took a note of the size label. “You know, I think one of my friends might have some clothes you’d like. She runs a clothing company that does everything from a vintage style to modern day. I’m sure she’d love to let you rifle through her products; see if there’s anything you’d like to take off her hands.”
You turned around but Steve hadn’t been listening. Instead, he’d been focusing on the case files that were strewn across the kitchen table.
Standing beside him, keeping your eye on his reactions, you looked down at the table before you came across a picture. You had to take a breath.
Steve had told you a little about his friends from the war. The Howling Commandos.
“Is that them?”
Steve nodded.
It took Steve a while to get used to his new apartment, but with your help, he found it becoming a home. You helped him change the bedsheets and work out his washing machine before putting your phone number into his phone.
“Think of it like a telegram,” you told him. “But rather than waiting weeks to hear back, it’s almost instantly.”
In the weeks that followed, you met Steve at his apartment every few days. On the weekends, you showed him around some of the thrift stores where he’d found a new kitchen table and some dishes to use in the kitchen.
One of your friends – the same friend that ran a clothing company – had delivered some new curtains. They were plain, but they were better than the ones Steve had been left with.
Meanwhile, Steve found an old gym where he could spend his evenings and, with your help, had figured out the basics of a phone and computer.
The one Shield had given him was far too high tech, even for you. So, you had brought Steve one of your old ones. It was still pretty modern, but it was a lot simpler to use than the Stark Industries issued one.
Then he got pulled into helping Shield with a threat that, to him, would have been best left in the ocean.
News reports came in thick and fast during the attack on New York. You hadn’t heard from Steve during it, until you nearly ran into him in the middle of the street as mechanical…whatever the hell they were, were flying through the sky.
“Why are you still in the city?! Everyone needs to get out.”
You nodded. “I know, but people needed help.” You looked down at his shield. “You know how to use that?”
Steve nodded.
“Can you break a lock with it?”
Steve followed you as you ran down an alley before disappearing around the corner and to an employee entrance. Neither you or Steve could tell what had welded a lock shut, but considering some kind of blue weapon lay not too far out in the middle of the street with similar residue being left of the door, you could only gather it had been some alien technology.
It took a few tries but the lock finally busted open and a bunch of parents with their kids came flooding out of the doors. As you and Steve started directing people to safety out of the city, you saw the way the kids looked up at Steve.
The whole image of Captain America had been controlled by the government, making him an image away from Steve Rogers. But nothing could control the way those kids looked up at Steve as their hero.
A comic book hero that existed in real life.
“Ma’am, is that everyone?” Steve asked one of the women that left the room.
She seemed distressed as she looked around. “I-I think so.” Then she ran off with the others.
Something in your gut told you to check the rest of the room, and Steve followed you inside.
“Go! Help the others! I can look after myself.”
“But-”
“Steve.” You looked at him. “Go. They need you.”
It took him a minute but he took your word for it and ran back out of the door. Meanwhile, you checked under every table and desk before something caught your eye at the side of one of the cabinets.
A kid, no older than six.
“Hey, honey.”
“Mommy was meant to pick me up.”
You looked around, hearing something hit a building nearby.
“I’ll help you look for her. Can I pick you up?” The kid nodded. “I’m Y/n, what’s your name?”
“Sophie.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Sophie. Come on, let's go and find your mom.”
After three hours of destruction over the city, and countless injuries being collected by people, it wasn’t until a mom came running through the crowds of EMTs and doctors, screaming out for her child that you and Sophie, sitting in the back of an ambulance, looked up.
And Sophie called out.
Jumping from the bench, Sophie looked outside and saw her mom running through the crowd. You watched as they collided and sank to the ground.
“I’m so sorry, baby. Are you okay? Are you hurt? Why aren’t you with the rest of your class? Where are they?”
“Hey,” you said, walking behind Sophie. “They got separated when trying to clear the city.”
“Did you save her?”
“I got her out-” Suddenly, the mom crushed you with a hug.
“Thank you. Thank you so much. I don’t know what I-” The tears continued to flow from her eyes.
“It’s alright. All that matters is that she’s safe.”
“Thank you so much.”
Hours later, you had finally made it back home, had showered and switched your TV on. The news had been following updates and different people’s theories of what had happened.
Then a knock came to your door.
Upon opening it, you were greeted with a fresher looking Steve Rogers.
“Shouldn’t you be with a medic?”
Steve smiled, “Shouldn’t you? Between the pair of us, I’m the one who has a serum running through their veins.”
You looked in his hand. “Is that a pizza?”
Steve nodded. “Didn’t know which kind you’d like, so I got the classic. Figured you haven’t eaten since yesterday.”
Inviting him inside, Steve laid it on the coffee table.
“Shouldn’t you be helping The Avengers or something?”
“Avengers?” Steve looked at you with a curious look.
You just pointed at the screen. “Oh, right. Yeah, we’ve all decided to take a break. But Shield tells me they’ve finally found me a job.”
“That’s something to celebrate.”
Steve shrugged. “Kinda hard to celebrate when an entire city almost got levelled to the ground.”
You understood. “I’m gonna head back tomorrow and see if they need any help.”
“Can I come with you?”
“You don’t have to ask, Steve.”
He smiled, if a little sheepishly.
For the rest of the evening, you and Steve shared a pizza and talked until neither of you wanted to say anything else.
So, you picked out a film and placed it into the DVD player. And you and Steve just sat and watched it.
As the months passed, you and Steve slipped into a familiar routine. He got better at texting, but you’d come to find he preferred to call. And during the days he was at the training facility in Washington and devoid of signal, he’d write you letters.
And you wrote them back.
He’d also started keeping a list, you’d noticed, of things you’d say in passing or you’d tell him to listen to or watch.
On the quiet afternoons you spent together, Steve would open up more. He told you more about the 40s and being in the army. He told you more about his childhood and his best friend, Bucky.
You’d surprised him one afternoon by taking him to the Smithsonian. They had a new exhibit put up – one pillar being dedicated to Bucky and his friendship with Steve.
In one of his final letters, he’d told you of a man he’d basically been trolling on his morning runs. You’d come to find out his name and you smiled.
Outside of you and the members of his team, Sam Wilson was the first friend Steve had made.
However, you didn’t get to meet him in person until you got a call from him, under Steve’s contact. Of course, the minute the headline had flashed on your screen, you’d tried to get into contact with him. He’d fallen, or rather, jumped, from an elevator and fallen a hundred feet or more to the ground. His own work seemed to be after him.
So, when you were told he’d fallen, once more, from one of the jets and had been in surgery, you rushed to him.
Entering his room, Natasha had been the one to take you to his room after two nurses read your name on his file but wouldn’t let you through.
“He’s alive, as you can see.”
“If I get a call like this again, telling me you’re dead, I’ll kill you myself.” You warned Steve before you walked to his side. The bastard had the audacity to chuckle.
“I promise. If I’m gonna die, I’ll ask your permission first.”
From behind you, you heard a voice smile. “I like her.”
“Y/n, this is Sam. Sam, this is Y/n.”
From that day on, the movie and pizza nights came to include both Sam and Natasha. However, unbeknownst to you and Steve, the movie nights also came to include the rest of the team.
Natasha had been trained to read people. And she’d never read anyone easier than you and Steve.
And her information soon became Clint’s information which soon became everyone’s information when he accidentally let it slip to the others.
Tony had been planning a party. Rather, he wanted to throw one and Pepper had come up with a list of people to invite. And when she read out your name, Steve had looked up but Clint had spoken first.
“Is that Steve’s girl?”
They all looked around at each other before looking at Steve. He had a girl?
Steve faltered. “Yes, well, no. She’s my friend. We’re friends but-”
Tony turned to Pepper. “Invite Steve’s girlfriend.”
“She’s not my girlfriend. We’re just friends. And she doesn’t really like big parties so-”
“Invite her anyway. I can’t believe Clint knows about her before we do.” Then he turned to Natasha. “I suppose you already knew.”
She just nodded.
And that was just the start of it.
A few nights later, Steve had given you a heads up which you appreciated but it did put you on edge a little. But all in all, it was…fun.
It was the first time you enjoyed yourself at a party and didn’t hate every minute of it.
Firstly, the attire was fancy but not gala fancy. It was a celebration of Hydra finally being overthrown from Shield.
You arrived in your heels that didn’t hurt your feet so much, wide legged trousers and a graphic t-shirt.
“Now, who is that?”
At the bar, Rhodey, Thor, Tony and Maria all stood watching as you entered the room, clearly looking for someone. Tony and Rhodey had met most of the building at the party. Maria had met them all – at the very least, she had a file on them all.
But not on you.
From behind the bar, Natasha leaned over. “That’s Steve’s girl.”
From the bar they watched as Sam noticed you first and called you over. You looked relieved at seeing a familiar face. Even more relieved at seeing Steve. Tony watched as Steve noticed you, too.
The game of pool Steve had been winning at suddenly took a dip as his aim went off kilter, his attention immediately going to you.
“Steve has a woman?” Thor asked, the other just nodded. “Well, we must meet her.”
However, as they all went to walk towards the pool table, Maria reached her hand out. “You boys swarm her, Steve will make sure you never get to speak to her again. I will go.”
And so she did.
The others watched on as Steve introduced you to Maria, every protective instinct a man got when introducing his girlfriend to the rest of his family going up. And somehow, with simple ease, Maria had gained a small part of your friendship and led you towards the second bar.
Meanwhile, Steve watched as you walked away, the heart in his eyes never leaving. Not even when Sam nudged him and they got back to the game.
Throughout the night, Steve kept his eye on you.
He almost broke the sound barrier by how quickly he turned up at your side when you were dragged into the conversation circle with most of them.
“So, tell me.” Tony said, sitting beside you. “How did you meet our fellow Captain?”
“Tony.” Steve warned, though no true malice could be traced in his voice.
You smiled. “It’s okay. We actually met at one of your parties.”
Tony sat back. “Really?”
You nodded. “Some fancy gala a few years back.”
Conversation between yourself and the rest of the group seemed to take a natural flow until eventually, all your nerves had subsided.
But that didn’t stop you from needing a break by the end. Between talking with Natasha, Maria and Thor for most of the night, and beating Sam at a few rounds of pool – something Steve found incredibly entertaining,
Tony had backed Sam on his idea that you were cheating. Nobody won that many rounds of pool one after the other. So, as the others gathered and watched the game, Steve stepped forward and he covered your eyes.
For a moment you looked up at him and smirked, and he smiled back with a light shrug of his shoulders.
“Yes, thank you, Cap.” Sam said. “See. This will prove that she’s cheat-”
As you hit the white cue ball, everyone watched and was left speechless as every ball suddenly found its home in the pockets, leaving you with an automatic victory.
Opening your eyes once more and standing up, you looked at the pool table with a proud look before looking at Sam. You’d never seen him as shocked. Looking at Steve, he seemed shocked but also proud.
“Still think I’m cheating?”
Tony just looked at you. “She’s a witch. She had to be. Were you cursed as a child? Born to some Vampire in Europe or something?”
Steve chuckled, as did you.
“Come on, Tony. Accept your defeat.”
As the hours passed, eventually you found yourself outside on the balcony, taking a breather from the party.
“Figured you’d find some place quiet.”
You stood back up, holding onto the balcony bar. “Hey.”
Steve smiled. “Hey. You okay? They can be a bit much.”
You shook your head. “No, it’s not that. Just needed a minute. You know, this is the first time I’ve enjoyed myself at one of these?”
Steve looked up at the building before looking back at you with a smile on his face. “It is better when people aren’t trying to show you off.”
You nodded with a smile. “Thank you for inviting me.”
“Thank you for escaping the last one and finding me in that room.”
It was in that moment that you realised the last time you’d gone to any kind of gala or party of the same scale was the first time you’d met Steve.
You smiled fondly at the memory. “Thanks for not being mad when I opened the door.”
“I could never be mad at you.”
“You didn’t even know me.”
Steve shrugged. “I’ve got a good judge of character.”
You felt yourself chuckle before you looked out across the rest of the city before a cold wind blew through making you shiver.
“Here,” Steve shrugged off his jacket but before you could tell him you were fine, he placed it over your shoulders.
It smelt of him.
“Thanks.”
Steve just nodded with a smile watching as you placed your arms through the holes and wrapped it a little tighter around yourself before you looked out at the rest of the city with him.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“Is something going on between Maria and Sam?”
Steve couldn’t help but laugh. “She’ll eat him alive.”
“He might be into that.”
Steve laughed and closed his eyes in disgust. “What makes you ask?”
You shrugged. “Just something I’ve noticed. He looks at her like she hung the moon. Though, of course, that’s when she’s not looking. When she is, it's like I’m back at school rehearsing for Much Ado About Nothing.”
Steve’s joy widened. “You were in a play?”
You laughed. “I wasn’t any good. I was only put on stage because my folks donated so much money to the school. All I wanted was to work with Tech.”
Steve chuckled. “I’d pay good money to see that. But, I get what you mean about Sam and Maria. Who knows? If the timing is right…”
Steve looked at you and you felt something bigger was being hidden behind his words. Part of you certainly held out hope that there was.
“We should probably get back inside.”
An hour later, most people had gone home so it was left with just Steve, yourself, Clint, Natasha, Bruce, Maria, Tony, Rhodey and Thor.
Still wearing Steve’s jacket, you were sitting in the middle of the sofa, your legs curled towards your chest. After he stood up, Steve came back and handed you a beer before he nudged your legs allowing him room to sit down before he pulled them across his lap.
It was the standard procedure for you and him to sit on a sofa together. Mainly because his sofa in his old apartment had been small enough to do so.
Despite changing apartments and the sofa, it was just something that stuck.
The others took silent note of it as the debate continued between Thor and Clint over his hammer.
By the time everyone was trying to lift it, Steve became one of the last. Sharing a look with you before looking at Thor, Steve stood up and tried to lift it.
You watched as it squeaked on the table for a moment, but moved no further. However, your knowing grin – despite it never truly lifting from the table – caused you to look at Thor.
He looked panic stricken.
But Steve stood back and held his hands up.
“Or…you’re all not worthy.”
“It’s still a trick!”
In the moments that followed, everyone turned to their own conversations; including you and Steve.
But Clint and Natasha kept their eyes on you and Steve. Your legs over his lap, wearing his jacket, his focus solely on you, his hand rubbing lightly against the bottom of your leg that was exposed under your wide-legged trousers, your ever loving gaze on his that matched yours, light and soft smiles on your faces.
“Ten bucks says they’ll be married in two years.” Clint whispered up to Natasha.
“Deal.”
Something that Clint didn’t know, that Natasha did, was that you and Steve were fucking oblivious.
They’d all be lucky if it happened in two years.
Quite frankly, it should have happened two years ago.
Suddenly, a high pitched noise rippled through the room.
“Of course you’re not all worthy…”
Your eyes landed on an oil leaking…zombie robot?
His voice was deep and menacing and nothing about any of it felt comforting.
“Steve?”
“Stark?”
“Jarvis?”
In a single turn of events you’d gone from laughing and joking with each other to suddenly defending yourself against a robot who claimed he’d killed someone.
A swarm of them flew in through broken glass panels and Steve kicked up a table before any of them could hit either of you.
You landed on the floor beside him, a little winded.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded. “I’m okay. Go, go, go. I’ll be fine.”
Steve helped you up before running off in the other direction. It was a whirlwind of blasts, bullets and shattered glass.
At one point, one had you cornered as Tony unhooked another. And for a moment, you thought you’d be sent flying out of the window and out into the open before Steve took hold of it, throwing it back towards Thor before Clint threw him his shield.
And it all ended as Thor sent his hammer flying through Ultron.
“What the fuck was that?”
“Banner.” Tony called him over before they headed towards their lab.
Meanwhile, Steve turned around before heading straight towards you and holding you in his arms, almost lifting you from the ground.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded, letting the scent of him, his clothes, his jacket, calm you.
“Yeah. Thanks for saving my life.”
Steve truly breathed for the first time since the high pitched noise had rang through the room. With a hand at the back of your head, he pressed a kiss to your temple and he closed his eyes.
“Come on, let's go and find the others.”
However, as he took your hand, you pulled him back. “Steve.”
“Right, you-you’ll want to go home-”
You shook your head. “It’s not that. You’ve got glass in your arm.”
“Oh.”
“Does Tony have tweezers in his lab?”
Steve nodded. “I think so.”
Less than five minutes later, you sat Steve in one of the chairs, Bruce handing you and Maria a set of tweezers each.
Staring with his arm, you plucked out the small fragments of glass before his skin healed over them, before holding his palm up to face you. Meanwhile, they began discussing the extinction of The Avengers and the possibility of nuclear codes getting out to the rest of the world.
Then rage got passed around the room.
By the time morning rolled around, Steve drove you back home.
“Whatever happens…” You looked at Steve, a small voice in the back of your head begging for him to be imprinted in your memory as if he hadn’t already. “Just promise me you’ll be careful.”
Steve nodded. “I promise. You’re the only one that can kill me, remember?”
You felt yourself laugh. At least he remembered.
Looking at him again, you hugged him. “I mean it, Steve. Please be safe.”
He hugged you back, the feeling of him strong enough for you to still feel hours later.
“I promise.”
Each day you didn’t hear from him was a little more worrisome than the last. And then when the media reported Shield helping evacuate people from a floating country…all you could do was hope Steve wasn’t one of the casualties.
“Maybe I’ll take a leaf out of Barton’s book.”
“The simple life?”
“You’ll get there one day. Maybe you could get there with Y/n?”
Steve couldn’t deny he hadn’t thought about it once or twice. You and him. Together. More than friends. A part of him did think you felt it too. The same spark. Familiarity. The same love.
“If something was gonna happen, it would have happened by now.” Steve told him. “Besides, I think the guy that wanted all that went into the ice seventy five years ago.”
Tony shrugged. “Don’t count on it. That guy is still there somewhere. See you ‘round, Rogers.”
As Tony drove away, Steve took in the building in front of him. And despite the acceptance he felt of being home, the idea of you and him…he figured that would always be with him.
Even if it never happened.
That night, Steve turned up outside your apartment with the next movie on his list and a case of soda. However, when you didn’t answer, he went in search of you.
Opening the door to the roof, he looked around before spotting you in the very corner, sitting on the table of the picnic bench.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
Looking around, you gave a sigh of relief at seeing him. He dropped the case on the table before you reached for him.
“Thank god you’re okay.”
“How long have you been up here?”
“Since Nat called me and told me you’d landed. I couldn’t sit in my apartment anymore so…I came up here. Last time I looked out at the city was before everything went to hell.”
Steve looked out at the city himself before looking back at you. “We’re not out of the woods yet. Ross is probably about to reign hellfire down on…everyone.”
“What about the girl?”
“Wanda?”
You nodded.
“I don’t know. She went through a lot, losing her home and her brother in one fowl sweep.”
“You should train her.”
“What?”
“Train her,” you repeated. “You’re the only one who knows what it’s like to be in a war, to sign up to be experimented on. She’s gonna need someone who actually understands some of what she’s going through.”
Steve agreed with you. You had a point.
“Tony can have a lot of influence and his heart can be in the right place but he doesn’t always remember that people didn’t have his childhood or his life.”
“He’s been through a lot.”
You agreed with Steve. “He has. But he’s never lost a brother, or his life to somebody’s cause. She’s gonna need help.”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
The rest of the evening was spent talking over what had happened, what Steve had thought when the earth quite literally started to lift from beneath him, what had happened with Banner and Nat and then you gave him your news.
Bucky had been spotted.
The next time you saw Steve was at Agent Peggy Carter’s funeral. You sat at the back for most of it, watching as Steve helped carry the coffin and as people gave their eulogies.
You didn't know much about Peggy Carter personally, though you could remember learning about her in school. The founder of Shield, working alongside Captain America in her early career. And from meeting Steve, you’d come to know more about her. As well as how deeply both she and Steve were in love.
You’d seen the clips at the museum, and with Steve beside you, it gave them a whole other meaning. And even though Steve living through the ice and landing himself in the 21st century had given you one of the greatest friendships you’d ever had, part of you felt angry for him.
Angry at the fact he missed out on his chance with Peggy and that she had to live a life where, as far as anyone knew, Steve was dead.
A soldier and a love story left stranded in time.
You could remember when Steve had first visited Peggy, again.
And now he had to say goodbye, again.
“It was a beautiful service.”
Steve looked up and down the aisle to where you were walking towards him. He felt the breath get knocked out of him. Or maybe back into him.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“Thought you could use a friendly face?”
A silent conversation then took place between you and Steve. Silent conversations weren’t unusual between you. A thousand words could be said in a look, but you’d both understand.
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen after I leave here-”
“No, I know. I know.” You understood completely. After he walked out of the church, Nat would be leaving without him.
“Today’s been a lot. Tomorrow’s gonna be a lot.” You looked back at Steve. “Right now can just be…right now. You’ve lost someone, Steve. Right now you don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. You don’t have to be Captain America right now.” Your gaze turned to Peggy’s picture. “I might not have met her, but I know you and I both know she would be telling you, you don’t have to be Captain America right now. At this moment, you’re just Steve: World War Two veteran who has just lost a great love in their life and deserves a moment to breathe.”
Steve gave you a weak smile, his emotions building up in his chest. “Thank you.”
Stepping forward, you wrapped Steve in a comforting hug and for the next twenty minutes, you both stayed inside the church.
There he told you the smaller facts about Peggy – the ones he’d learnt when she was with him and his Howling Commandos.
But then the time came to leave.
Walking down the different streets, hearing time tick away, you and Steve soaked up what time you could before everything was about to go to shit.
And on a bench beside the River Thames, you and Steve said your goodbyes. Both of you knew something was going to go wrong. What that was exactly, neither of you could put your finger on it. But something was going to happen.
It was only a matter of time.
“Here.”
“What’s this?”
Steve read the piece of paper. It was a set of coordinates.
“I own a house. It’s in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in Europe. If anything happens, Ross can’t touch you. The house had been in my family’s name for generations but one of my great aunt’s left it to me. It’s yours to use.”
“Y/n-”
“Take it, Steve. Nobody knows it exists so they won’t find you. It’s run down but there should be running water.”
Steve finally accepted it. “Thank you. You know, if Tony ever finds out about this, he’s gonna believe that you are a witch from a vampire family.”
You shrugged. “Maybe I am, you just don’t know it.”
Steve shrugged, pocketing the paper safely.
“I’m gonna miss you.”
You took his hand. “I’m gonna miss you, too.”
You tried your best to avoid the tears, but they were trying their hardest anyway.
“Just promise me one thing, Steve.”
Steve nodded, squeezing your hand a little tighter. “Be safe?”
You nodded. “Be safe.”
Your eyes locking with his, Steve decided to take a risk. There was a chance he might never be able to see you again. Whatever was going to happen, the first person they’d put a tail on would be you.
He kissed you.
With your hand on his lapel, you held him closer. It was short and bittersweet, but the memory of him and his kiss would forever be seared into your brain.
And for a few moments, you just held onto each other, fearful of opening your eyes and accepting that one of you would have to walk away.
With his finger, Steve gently brushed the stray hair from your face away and behind your ear before kissing you quickly for a second time.
“One of us has to say goodbye.”
“I know,” you sniffed. “I know.”
“If there’s one thing I’m grateful for, it's that you walked into that room when you did. You were the first person to treat me like one and to help me. Thank you for wanting to escape that party.”
You laughed through the tears. “You never have to thank me for that. It’s crazy to think I almost didn’t go.”
“I’m glad you did.”
“So am I.”
Looking at each other for one final time, you leaned in and kissed him. You prayed that his hand by your waist would leave a brand – a different pain to carry with you than the one in your heart.
Feeling yourself stand, the kiss broke away and you were the first to say goodbye.
Walking down the stone pavement, you looked behind you before you turned a corner, only to find Steve had already gone. Between the bustling people, the bench you’d both just been sitting at was exactly that.
A bench.
Going home, you tried to find a way to keep yourself busy but no matter where you looked, everything reminded you of him. The movies you’d watched with him, the ones you didn’t. The pizza’s shared, and soda spilt, the curtain, bedsheets, books, clothes, pictures.
You had some of his artwork in your house. Some of them people, most of landscapes – people and places you’d seen together.
And in an album under your bed, you had his letters.
Each one in its original envelope on one page and the pictures he’d drawn of the skyline from wherever he’d been.
Some evenings, you’d reread his letters – still able to hear his voice.
Then the headlines started to roll in.
Captain America was a fugitive and had broken his team out of a high secure facility.
And for almost two years a hunt was put on for him. You were interviewed every couple of months with the same questions.
Did you know where he was? Had he contacted you? What information did he share with you?
Just because you’d given him a set of coordinates didn’t mean he’d use them. The last time you’d heard from Steve was in London and the only information he’d shared with you that day was about Peggy Carter and some of the old stories of when he was first in London in the 40s.
In the meantime, your parents had convinced you to attend different dinner parties, charity shows, fundraisers and galas, all the while helping you find a date.
Most of the people your mother had first introduced you to years ago, they were recently married. But the single ones she’d found; you dated some, though it never went any further than a sixth date – usually the date after your parents invited them to attend dinner.
But no matter the fancy meal, or the conversation, or the man; none of them could beat a pizza, soda, a movie and…
Steve.
None of them could beat Steve.
But that all changed one afternoon when you were gardening.
Living in the city had reminded you too much of Steve, and with the constant reminders of the memories and new threats and superheroes popping up, you decided to find somewhere nice to live.
Someplace…simple.
So, buying a house outside of the city with a few acres of land, you started renovating. Any business meetings you had could be done online which meant you had more time to fix your new home up.
The smell of plaster, paint and sawdust filled your home for most of the days until finally things started to come together. New windows and locks were installed, the faulty taps were fixed and finally the entire place was given a new lease of life.
And just as you were half way through with fixing your garden; planting some flowers and digging patches for a small allotment, a car pulled up outside your drive.
On your knees in the dirt, it took a moment for your eyes to focus on the person climbing out of the car in the distance.
They were tall, broad and had a beard.
However, the closer they got, memories started to kick in. The walk, the frame…
You stood up and walked closer until you stopped again, feeling the breath being knocked out of you.
“Oh, my god…”
He watched as you stopped in your tracks, your brain confirming who he was. Then you started running. Across the grass and onto the gravel path, you collided with Steve.
“This is you, I’m not dreaming, am I?”
Steve shook his head and he held onto you, the essence of you filling his senses.
“No, you’re not dreaming.”
You leaned back and looked at him before hugging him again.
Finally, Steve set you back onto your feet and his hands remained at your waist.
“Why are you back? Last I heard…”
“The team and I are keeping our distance for a few days. Nat’s headed to Ohio and Sam is trying to see his sister. It’s the best way to avoid Ross.”
You nodded, checking him over. He didn’t seem like he was dying.
With a hand on his cheek, you smiled a little, pointing out the obvious. “You grew a beard.”
Steve smiled a little. “Helps me blend in.”
You looked into his eyes and smiled. “It suits you.”
Holding gently onto your wrist, Steve turned his head and kissed your palm and for a second you closed your eyes, leaning into him.
“I’m really glad you’re okay.”
Placing your hand over his heart, Steve seemed to bear into your soul. “So am I.”
What followed was two hours of conversation around where he’d been and what he’d been doing since he left, and what you had been doing.
Then he started to help. Painting the porch on the back of the house as you continued planting in the back garden, you spent time together.
Time that was all too precious knowing he was on a clock.
“Where did you learn to cook?” You asked Steve as you helped him chop up veg.
With a smile on his face, Steve continued to prepare dinner. “I have a contact in Scotland. Their aunt runs a cafe and needed a few extra hands in the kitchen.”
As you helped Steve prepare dinner, you listened to the stories he’d gathered over his time away. Scotland, Spain, Germany, Italy, England, Poland, Norway, and many others.
Once dinner was finished, you started to clean up. But from the table, Steve looked at you standing by the sink in front of the window.
You’d never left his thoughts.
Sat on that bench in London, he watched you walk away and for a moment, he remained where he was. He didn’t know if he’d ever be able to see you again – not without heavy restrictions.
He wanted you so desperately to turn around, but if you did, he would have followed you. He would have stood up and ran after you.
So he left.
He left before you could look around, he left before he would stop fighting himself and follow you.
And each day he woke up, for the few moments in the morning where he would forget what had happened, where he would forget the world he’d been found in, he thought about you. He thought about calling you or writing you a letter. He thought about seeing you when he’d roll over in bed. But each time…
You weren’t there.
You weren’t with him.
You were at your home, thousands of miles from him.
And he had no way of talking to you.
Walking across the kitchen floor to you, he placed a hand on your waist before reaching across to the window cill.
“What are you doing?” You smiled.
Looking at you and turning up the dial, Steve smiled. “Come with me.”
Taking the cloth from your hand, Steve dropped it back into the bowl of soapy water and took your hand in his. Then, pulling you into the middle of the kitchen with him, you both started to slow dance.
“What’s this for?”
Steve shrugged, holding your hand over his heart once again. “I don’t know how long I’ve got with you. Figured we could spend it not washing up.”
You felt yourself smile. “I think I like that.”
It was soft and slow. Swaying with the beat until the radio turned static, you and Steve remained in each other's arms.
“Can you stay the night?”
Steve nodded.
“Good.”
The night soon settled over your home, the stars slowly emerging from behind the clouds. With your porch taking on a blue hue in its own shadow, you and Steve sat side by side on your porch swing.
Your hair still a little damp from your shower, Steve continued to run his fingers through it. And with your head on his chest, you let his heart beat calm you. For a moment, Steve turned his nose into your hair and pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
After a few moments, he didn’t say anything. Not that you would have heard anything considering your body was begging for sleep.
Carefully standing, Steve slipped one of his arms around your back and one under your legs before carrying you inside. He tucked you under your bed covers before making his rounds, locking up the doors and windows. Finally, he got in beside you.
For years, he’d dreamed of it.
Being with you, by your side, a domestic and loving day before laying beside you knowing he would be waking up beside you every morning.
And Steve smiled as in your sleep you moved closer to him, your arms wrapping across his middle.
You couldn’t remember when you’d gone from the porch to your bed, but you could remember Steve. Feeling his arms around you, his heartbeat under your cheek, his lips on yours…
“Hey,”
Steve was sitting on the edge of the bed by your legs, fully dressed.
“Hey, what time is it?”
Steve kept his eyes on you. “A little after four.”
You gave a groan and closed your eyes again. Steve chuckled. Reaching out, he gently swept the hair from your eyes, your head turning towards him. With his hand on your cheek, he felt your smile.
It was your turn to hold onto him and kiss his palm.
And just as the knowing sadness started to grow, Steve still smiled, leaning forward and kissed you.
You would never get bored of his kiss.
Peppering it out, you held onto his face before your hands slipped around his back and you held him closer.
With a sigh, Steve held you closer to him, trying to imprint the feeling of you in his arms.
Trying your best to ignore the growing tears, you spoke.
“Just promise me you’ll be safe?”
Steve chuckled a little. “You know you’re the only one who's allowed to kill me. But I promise.”
“Good.”
Holding on a little tighter, you silently begged for more time with him. But the clock was ticking.
From above, there was deep rumbling.
“You better go,” you told Steve.
It took him a moment before he let go and with one final kiss, it was his turn to say goodbye.
Hearing his boots walk across the floor of your bedroom, down the hallway, through the living room and towards your front door.
You heard his pause for a moment and in that moment, you wondered what he would do if you called out for him.
But he couldn’t stay any longer.
People needed him.
The world needed him.
Hearing your front door click open, Steve’s footsteps trailed off as it closed once more until eventually the only sound that was left was the ever quieting sound of a rumbling jet engine.
Six months later, half of the world disappeared.
With a snap of Thanos’ fingers, Steve watched as half of his team, his family, disappeared. And upon returning back to the Avengers’ compound, you were his first call.
Only, you never answered.
“Go.” Natasha told him.
He didn’t need to be told twice.
Making a break for it, Steve ran down into the garage before hopping on his bike. He’d made it to yours in half the time.
Pulling up, he started calling out for you. His voice filled with desperation and fear, he ran up to your front door.
It was unlocked.
He almost tripped inside as he tried the door, the hinges getting stuck.
“Y/N!”
He raced around your home; checking the kitchen, living room, pantry, washing room, office, bathroom, and the bedrooms before finally reaching yours.
The bedding was strewn a little, the soft lines of the fitted sheet folded into where you would have been laying. The pain in Steve’s chest seemed to grow heavier by the minute.
You weren’t here.
One hand on his hip, another covering his mouth, Steve turned around in a slow circle. Tears pricking at his eyes, his mind had gone from running a thousand miles a minute to…being completely overrun by pain.
He had nearly a thousand chances to be with you, to share a life with you that he’d always dreamed of – all before everything went to hell.
But it was too late.
You were gone.
Just like half of the world, you were gone.
Gripping onto the cold metal of your bed frame, Steve tried to steady himself.
You were gone.
Somewhere behind him, he heard a click.
His entire body stilled.
Slowly turning around he found…
No one.
Somewhere down the hall, a door closed.
As quietly as he could, Steve walked from your bedroom and down the hallway. The noises started to compile together.
Shoes shuffling, a bag being thrown onto a counter, a bucket handle rattling against itself.
From a corner, Steve saw an apron thrown across the back of a kitchen chair. A tap started to pour before someone switched it off.
Then someone started to hum.
You started to hum.
Fully stepping into the kitchen doorway, Steve felt the entire life get knocked back into him.
Then you turned around.
He scared the shit out of you.
The bucket slipping out of your hand, it knocked against your sink, the water spilling down the drain.
Just as it did, you recognised him.
Rushing forward, Steve enveloped you into his arms, your feet lifting from the ground.
“You’re alive,” you breathed.
“I thought you were gone.” Steve mumbled into your shoulder, holding onto you tighter.
“Steve, what’s going on?”
“He won.”
Steve set you back down on your feet and for the first time in almost seven months, you finally got a good look at him. He looked tired, worn. Beaten.
“We almost did it, but he won.”
“Whose left?”
Steve tried his best to name those who were left.
“We think Tony’s gone but we can’t be sure.”
The tears were falling from Steve’s cheeks as he told you. Wiping them away, you pulled him back into a hug.
“I tried calling you but when you didn’t answer…” You could feel Steve’s entire body shaking under you. “I thought I’d lost you, too.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t answer. Steve, honey, you need to sit down. Let me get you some water.”
As you sat him down, Steve watched as you moved around your kitchen. Grabbing a glass from the cupboard, running the tap until it was cold before handing it to him.
“I’ll make you some food. When did you last eat? You should call Nat.”
“Right.”
After calling and updating Nat, Steve hung up the phone. And for the next few hours, Steve talked you through everything he could; right up to him running through your door.
In the months that followed, a transition started to take place. People had to get used to a world where half of the people they loved were gone.
And somewhere between Steve finding you in your kitchen and Tony and Pepper having their daughter, yourself and Steve finally came together.
Properly.
This time there were no goodbye kisses and fear of never seeing each other again. That biggest fear had been and gone.
What you were left with was…acceptance.
Acceptance that you had both almost completely lost each other for good. There was no point in avoiding feelings, or being scared of what might happen.
You both had a chance at a life together.
So you both took it.
From then on your home with Steve became interchangeable between the Avengers compound and your house. Saving her from the lifetime supply of peanut butter sandwiches, you dragged Natasha when you could to your home with Steve and made her a decent meal.
Being out in the open also gave her a breath of fresh air away from the training facility walls that never changed colour.
And eventually things…settled.
People found a new way of life, coming back each year to celebrate those who were lost. And then new life was brought into the mix.
Not too long after Pepper had given birth to Morgan, you were faced with a positive pregnancy test result yourself.
And Natasha was your first call.
“What’s going on? I have an extra gun in the car if we need it.”
You showed it to her. “What does that show?”
“Holy shit, you’re pregnant.”
A small whimper left your lips as you handed her the test stick and started pacing around your bathroom.
“Are…are we not happy about that?”
You whimpered again as you paced up and down. “I-I don’t know. We-we haven’t planned anything. I mean, we’ve talked about it a few times but what if something goes wrong? Are you sure it was positive?”
Natasha looked back at it. “Well, it’s got a plus sign so-”
“It’s the third I’ve taken this week. The other two came up invalid but that one was like a bright flashing light.”
Reaching for you by the shoulders, Natasha sat you down. “Okay, first off, breathe.”
You did so.
And then some more.
“Okay. Here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna go and get you another box of tests. Proper ones, not these things. And you’re gonna call Steve.”
“He’ll probably pass out. Why do you think I called you?”
Natasha laughed. “Just call him. I’ll be right back.”
And she was.
Walking back inside, she called out and Steve called back.
Three minutes later, you were all huddled in the bathroom waiting for the result to finally show.
“What if it’s a false positive? If it’s positive-positive, will I be able to carry the baby?”
Crouching down in front of you, Steve held your hand. “Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out. Together. Okay?”
You took a breath and nodded. Leaning up, Steve kissed you and you kissed him back.
You’d been having conversations about starting a family together for a while, but neither of you had started planning it just yet. Mostly because you hadn’t gotten around to it. And you didn’t know if you could even carry Steve’s kid. For all either of you knew, the serum would carry onto your child.
Natasha looked at her phone.
“It’s time.”
With a shaky breath, you and Steve stood. However, you paused as you reached for the test.
“Count me down.”
Steve chuckled softly, counting back from three.
After one, you turned it over.
Pregnant 3+ weeks
You felt yourself smile and laugh a little before showing Steve.
“You’re gonna be a dad.”
Taking the test from your hands, Steve took one look at it before the water-works started.
Nine months later, inside the Avengers compound, Natasha was walking with you.
“Once they started arguing over what the manual said, I made a break for it.”
Tony had surprised you and Steve at your home and after an hour, Steve had wrangled him in to help build the crib. It was the final thing that needed to be built and since Steve had banned you from lifting heavy things since you had elected to ignore your midwife and pushed the crib from the living room and into the nursery. You couldn’t help.
“Have you decided on a name yet?”
You shook your head. “Not yet.”
“Well, I might be biassed but Natasha is a really good name.”
You laughed a little. “I’ll think about it.”
Natasha smiled, holding onto your hand as she helped you down one of the narrower steps.
However, halfway around the building, you stopped.
“Everything okay?”
You nodded. “Just a bit of cramp.”
But it wasn’t just cramp.
Barely a second later, you felt water trail down your leg until there was a louder splash against the tiles.
“Oh, shit.”
You looked down. “Oh, my god.”
“Okay, okay. We’re okay.”
You nodded, taking hold of her hand as she walked you down the hall.
“Steve’s old room is just down the hall. Once we get you there-”
“Call him.”
“I know, I will.”
“No, call him now. Please.”
Twenty minutes later, Tony’s car was kicking gravel up and onto the windshield. Steve ran inside, nearly taking out a few employees on the way.
Almost fifteen hours later, a healthy baby girl was delivered.
With her in Steve’s arms, bundled in a fresh baby blanket, everyone stood around the bed.
“Only took you a decade.”
Steve chuckled, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from his daughter. And neither could you.
And for almost four years, it was blissful.
As your daughter grew up, Steve told her stories and showed her pictures of the 40s. Even at the age of three, she seemed wise beyond her years.
Then one night, everything changed.
Recently, she hadn’t been sleeping. So, lay in bed with you whilst Steve was still at work, you told her a few bedtime stories but when Steve came in an hour or so later, he found her still awake.
“You should be asleep,” he whispered to her.
“I tried. Mommy fell asleep, though.”
Steve looked over and smiled. “Come on, let your mom sleep.”
Picking his daughter up, Steve carried her down the hall, leaving his jacket on the bed beside you. Making sure to close the door behind him, Steve started to talk to his daughter.
Their conversation eventually turned to someone from Steve’s past.
“Daddy, whose that?”
Steve looked at the photo. It was him and Bucky during his army days, though both were out of uniform and in civilian clothing. There weren't many pictures of Bucky in normal clothes.
“That’s Uncle Buck.”
“But he’s not in green.”
Steve chuckled. “You’re right, he’s not. That was when we were in London. Pinky, one of the Howling Commandos, decided to take us on a tour of London.”
“Wow.”
She was awe-struck.
“Does he know I was born?”
Steve felt a pang in his chest. “Maybe. I don’t know if he can hear me, but I’ve told him.”
“Would he like me?”
Steve smiled. “He’d love you.”
Kissing her temple, Steve sat down in one of the chairs. “Try and get some sleep.”
Steve himself must have fallen asleep because next thing he knew, you were waking him up. Your daughter was still fast asleep, he carried her to bed before you led him down the hall and he collapsed onto your shared bed.
The next time he woke up that morning, everything you both knew was about to change.
Time Travel.
There was a chance everyone could be brought back.
And after a long conversation, one that was overheard by your daughter who had been playing in the back garden with the family dog, Steve accepted what he had to do.
“You and Aunty Nat will have pictures again.”
Handing Steve a slightly mud scattered, crinkled, crayon drawing; your daughter had drawn a picture with everyone on it.
Herself, you, the dog, Steve, Nat, Bucky, Sam with his wings, Clint with his bow and arrow, Thor and his hammer, Tony, Bruce…the stick men with different items, standing on a green field with a corner sun, continued on and on.
It was that night you kissed Steve and he said what could have been his final goodbye to your daughter. She held onto him tightly, telling him she loved him. The only thing that carried him on his feet was the thought of going through what Scott was.
In the time he got stuck, he thought his daughter was gone.
Steve would have done anything to get his daughter back.
And it didn’t take much for him to remember the pain that washed through and over him when he thought he lost you.
Scott, like many others, had lost someone they loved. So had Steve. But he hadn’t lost you, though he thought he did.
People needed their families back.
And that’s what they got.
At the cost of Tony’s life.
After everything had settled, you drove as fast as you could to find Steve. And you found him far outside of the Avengers compound, crouched on the floor.
“Steve!? Steve!”
Looking up, he spotted you amongst the grey smoke. A shining light in the darkness.
Running as fast as you could, you eventually reached him.
“I couldn’t wait any longer. I needed to know if you were okay. Are you okay?”
Steve’s voice was quiet. “He’s gone.”
“Gone? Who’s gone?”
Steve’s voice broke. “T-tony. Tony’s gone.”
“Oh, my god.”
As Steve hugged you, you held him as tightly as you could. He asked about your daughter.
“She’s with my dad back home. She’s safe. She just needs a cuddle from her dad.”
Steve nodded. “I think I need one from her, too.”
Two weeks later, Steve brought Bucky and Sam home.
“Honey, come here.” Your daughter ran to her dad’s side. “Sam, Buck. I’d like you to meet Aurora. Rory, honey, this is Sam and Bucky.”
Sam knelt down and shook her hand. “It’s nice to finally meet you, miss.”
Meanwhile, Bucky was in pure shock. Slowly, he knelt beside Sam and Bucky felt his life flash before his eyes.
“Steve…she looks like your mom.”
As Rory studied Bucky, she decided to hug him. Sam smiled and so did you and Steve. And eventually Bucky hugged her back, frightened he might break her.
“Can I show them my room?”
The consensus was yes and whilst Sam was dragged towards her bedroom, Rory shouting for you to follow, Bucky and Steve followed behind.
Inside her room, her walls were covered in different pictures she’d drawn of the different stories Steve had told her. Of course, most of them were stick men, but the message was still clear.
A week later, a funeral was held for Tony and the Stones had to be returned.
Standing beside Bucky as Steve stood on the platform, Aurora stood and waited in between both of you.
And in what was a few seconds later, Steve returned with Natasha by his side.
Aurora gasped and bolted forward.
“Aunty Nat!”
“Careful, kiddo.” Steve warned just before Aurora collided with her, but Natasha shook her head.
“It’s okay.”
Lifting her into her arms, she hugged her tightly.
“You’re back.”
Natasha smiled. “Thanks to your dad.”
Looking at her dad, she smiled before hugging Natasha again.
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
Natasha nodded and carried Rory back towards you before everyone started running over. Meanwhile, you watched as Steve walked over to Sam.
Ten minutes later, your daughter bolted from the crowd and towards her dad who was finally out of his protection suit.
“I missed you.”
“I missed you, too.”
Seeing you again, Steve kissed you before kissing Rory’s cheek.
“Everything okay?”
Steve watched as Fury made his way over to Sam, and he smiled.
“Everything’s good.”
Kissing you again, Steve smiled. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For walking into that room when you did.” Steve told you. “I’m just sorry it took me so long to do something about it.”
You shook your head, looking from him to your daughter and back to him. “It happened when it was meant to.”
Steve smiled before he kissed you. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Tony was right; Steve found the life with you he’d always wanted, even if it did take him a decade to do something about it.

Hello, I'm back, with things I have noticed about Eragon that makes parts of the book very strange or funny or sad
Garrow's farm is TEN MILES OUT from Carvahall, which is already small. What the hell was he thinking??? It takes like 3.5 hours to walk that much???? And Eragon walks FURTHER THAN THAT to go hunting at 15???? Go behind you??
When hunting in the beginning, Eragon spends days just going for one doe. Which, all things considered, is not a lot of meat, especially for what's probably a 4 day hunt. For one person, it's unrealistic to carry more than that, but still.
Leading on from that, I'm led to believe that their family probably mostly ate bread and vegetables, and maybe cheese. No wonder he's pretty attached to meat.
Despite living so far away, Brom knows Eragon's knack for asking Too Many Questions, which implies this happens often.
How the hell does Brom make money? Storytelling??? There's only so much money that can get you in fifteen years, he's definitely got something on the side. He was a gardener in Morzan's estate for a while...
So far up north and isolated, Eragon DEFINITELY has a STRONG farmer's accent. Combined with his formal training with the elves, he probably has the weirdest way of talking, where it's both overly formal and casual at the same time.
Eragon is such a prodigy it's not even funny. By the time he meets Murtagh, he's a good enough swordsman after JUST A FEW MONTHS that they're literally equal. Murtagh has been doing that his WHOLE LIFE with a really good swordsman. Magic also comes pretty good to him, even if he's not always sensible with it. He learns to read well enough to read full books in a week.
Eragon and Roran are pretty similar with the dangerous stunts they pull, except Eragon's are usually with magic and Roran's are physical. They are both absurdly intelligent too, even if Eragon is known to act like a dolt sometimes. In his defence, he's stressed and like 15-17 years old. All things considered, he could be far worse.
Somehow, with his back ripped open and cursed, with his dragon crashing through the crystal ceiling which is raining on top of him, Eragon is able to not only remember to stab Durza in the heart (requiring turning around), but also shout an unnecessary spell.
Eragon probably could do magic before he bonded with Saphira. His mum wasn't a rider and had the "genes" for it, and his dad was a rider. It wouldn't be as strong, but maybe he's such a powerful spellcaster because he had some sort of baseline.
I bet that the first time Eragon wandered into the Spine, he was pretty young, and everyone kinda assumed him dead. He came out a week later with a bunch of rabbits or something
The fact that the Blood Oath Celebration made Eragon very pale implies that he's naturally the whitest boy ever and he just had a constant tan going (likely, because he's a farmer). This is just very funny to me, that in removing all injuries it took his tan.
Another point for absurdly powerful Eragon - the fact that his accidental curse had such an impact on Elva, to the point that it straight up affected her development. It wasn't even a spell! Or intentional!
I'm sorry, but Eragon casting empathy and that unintentionally killing the bad guy is so funny. He was SURRENDERING, but cut a bitch so deep that he imploded himself. Iconic.
Literally he is just so nice. Willing to run across the world, separated from Saphira, to support Orik in his campaign - when he totally could have given an excuse, or even just say the truth, which is that he's very much needed where he is. There's so many more examples, but he's just a good person.
I'm sorry, but Oramis was kinda a bitch for assigning the one hour of duelling in his training. Like, it flares up his seizures like crazy (which he ALSO SUFFERS FROM), AND he doesn't stand a chance against the elves in strength. I understand the point, but something had to give there. At the very least, reassign someone that won't actively torture him??
Adding onto that, we know that he's only able to succeed at the listening to the forest task after the transformation. I suspect that the mind is a sort of "sixth sense", and we know that elves have stronger senses; it's possible Eragon would have to have been bonded for a decent while for this to even be possible. I bet anything that human riders were usually trained by elder humans, and Oramis was struggling with a fledgeling human instead of an elf, as well as the time constraint.
Why the hell does Brom look so old? Yeah, he's old, but Galbatorix doesn't look that old? Is it something to do with his dragon being dead? The way I assumed it would be is that riders look like thirty for a verrrryyyy long time, no? Is it because Saphira died? Was he just going to perpetually age? Or does the beard age him?
Your cousin who feels like a brother goes missing, ran away, after your father's death. Soon you're leading everyone you've ever known to the rebellion in a desperate attempt to keep them safe and save the woman you love. Your cousin is wanted, even more than you are. He returns. He's different. Barely human anymore, hardly the boy you once knew. He's their last, and only hope. His war cry has been the same since he was six.
Now that I think about it, Garrow really is the odd one out in the family. His sister was the Black Hand, a highly dangerous assassin and magician. His son is Stronghammer, one of the deadliest soldiers in the country. His nephews are Eragon and Murtagh, both highly skilled swordsmen and magicians, riders, and both known as Kingkiller. Garrow is a farmer who can read.
Selena naming her son Eragon is soooo funny. "His dad - who is a secret! - is a rider, and Eragon was the first rider. It's so uncommon a name even among the elves that literally nobody will know this. My abusive husband and the evil king both know I hail from this place. He totally won't stick out in any way whatsoever!" Iconic, 10/10. It worked???
If any of these are inaccurate please remember I am going off my very deep-seated knowledge from reading the books so many times at a formative age. I haven't actually read them in years

Something stupid
★・・・・・・★
The time is right, your perfume fills my head
The stars get red, and, oh, the night's so blue
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying somethin' stupid like, "I love you"
★・・・・・・★
Kuroo Tetsuro x F!reader
Tw: nothing! Lol!
★・・・・・・★
Synopsis; you and kuroo grew up together and one slightly intoxicated night you admit things you probably shouldn’t have.
★・・・・・・★
You and Kuroo met when you guys were 6 years old.
You had just moved in to your new home only to be greeted by a tall dark haired boy asking if you wanted to play volleyball.
You, ever so excited about the opportunity to already make a new friend took him up on his offer.
He tricked you.
He didn’t want to actually play volleyball, he just wanted you to throw the ball to him.
You were okay with this though, you thought the chatty boy was funny and cool.
“So your names y/n but can I just call you n/n? It sounds way cooler. No offense.”
“N/n is way cooler Tetsuro!” You chirped back.
“Cool. N/n it is then!”
Something about how sure of everything he was lured you in.
Even when asking questions it’s like he already knew what your answer would be.
That’s what kept you coming around him, he intrigued your little brain.
He felt the same about you.
You had big eyes that were always so full of wonder and joy that he wished he could have.
Tetsuro was smart. Extremely smart. He had heard his parents say he was too smart for his own good so many times he had lost count.
He hated being the smart kid.
Always knowing what the adults were talking about had made him stressed. More stressed than a six year old should ever be.
He had found himself bored with life. Dreading big questions all the time.
His parents fought a lot, he wondered how long it would take for them to get a divorce.
Divorce. He learned what that was a year ago when he over heard his mom mention getting one to her friend one night, while his dad was out of town for work.
‘I just cant stand this anymore. Im only here for Tetsu.’
‘Have you thought about… you know?’
‘Divorce? Yeah i have. I just- I don’t know how to even start.’
His mom was unaware of her son’s presence, otherwise the conversation would have been over the second she knew.
‘Divorce’ had repeated in his mind for the whole weekend.
Finally when school came around he asked his teacher.
“What’s a divorce?”
The teacher, thinking nothing of it, answered.
“It when a married couple breaks up.”
It took 3 more years for them to leave each other.
But he was lucky. He had you.
By the time you two were nine he had surpassed you in every academic way possible.
‘N/n! N/n! Guess what?!’
‘What?!’
‘I’m reading at the same level as middle school second years do!’
‘Wow Tetsu! You’re so smart!’
You didn’t care though, you always remained proud of him. Openly expressing it all the time too.
When you were 10 though, there was a suddenly shift between you two.
A younger kid from down the block named Kenma had started coming around.
Practicing volleyball with Tetsuro everyday nearly.
You weren’t one to get jealous but something about this whole situation made your stomach hurt.
The boy you had known for three years was pushing you aside for someone he had known for 3 months! How unfair!
‘You never play with me anymore Tetsu!’
‘Well yeah, Ive been busy!’
‘Playing with Kenma! It’s not fair!’
‘You’re dramatic!’
You guys didn’t talk for a whole year after that.
You had never been so lonely in your life.
On your 11th birthday though, Kuroo decided enough was enough.
He used all his allowance money to buy you the biggest stuffed animal he could find.
Rushing over to your house with it he practically ran your door down trying to get in.
‘Happy birthday n/n! Stop being mad at me! Im sorry! I miss you!’
A few years later, you had came around to the idea of Kenma. Creating a trio you three became unstoppable.
Middle school was rough for all three of you.
Kenma was a year younger than both of you so seeing him was harder to do than you thought it would be.
You decided Friday nights were mandatory sleepover nights because of this.
That’s how you ended up here, eight years later, on the floor of your new apartment with Kuroo.
Kenma’s mom said he needed to get his grades up before he even thought about asking to go out again.
It had been like this the past 6 Friday’s.
Just the two of you, because Kenma couldn’t get his damn grades up.
“Well maybe if you stopped bleaching your hair you wouldn’t have so many chemicals seeping into your brain so you’d actually focus in school.” A shit eating grin was plastered across the tall mans face.
“It’s not the bleach Tetsu. It’s the video games obviously.” You stated, propping your phone up so you both could properly see your younger friend.
“Both of you shut up!” Kenma groaned, throwing his face into a pillow on his bed.
“Welp! Maybe get your grades up!” Tetsuro said, sticking his tongue out tauntingly.
“Whatever asshole.”
‘Kozume! Watch your mouth!’ You heard kenma’s mom yell in the background.
“Whatever!,” he replied back, grabbing his phone and holding it close to his face. “Im gonna go now. Do my homework or something. I hate you both, bye!”
“Hate you, love you byeee!” You said pressing the big red ‘X’ in the corner of your screen.
Sighing you roll over on your mattress which is smack in the middle of your (soon-to-be) living room.
“Tetsuuuu,” you coo out, a sign you were up to something sneaky. “I have a surprise from my grandparents!”
“Oouuu what is it?” He said, matching your devious tone.
You hopped up and skipped over to your mostly empty fridge.
A pizza box and bottle of wine sat in it.
The pizza curtsey of your best friend, his ‘housewarming gift’ was dinner for the night.
And the bottle, a gift from your grandparents for turning 19 and moving out.
You grab the, now, chilled bottle and skip back out to the empty living room.
Lucky for you they also gifted you a corkscrew with it.
Sitting down infront of him you shake the bottle in his face.
“Oouuhh fancy, where’d ya’ get that?” A quizzical eyebrow shot up on the mans face.
“My grandparents. They said its a tradition and good luck to drink a bottle of wine when you get your first place.,” you huff looking down at the bottle in your hands. “I just think they’re cool as fuck and were trying to reason with my parents.” A small chuckle leaves your lips as you now look back up at the black haired man across from you.
“Hey nana l/n has always been awesome as hell! Cut my girl some slack!” He replies, reaching out and grabbing the bottle to inspect it himself.
You laugh at his response.
He’s always been so quick witted. It was one of his most charming traits, in your opinion.
“So! We gonna crack this bad boy open, or what?” You say, drawing his attention off the label.
“Yes, sorry!,” He smiles up at you apologetically. “Do the honors ms. l/n!”
You take the bottle from him and slam the cork screw in the end. After a moment of twisting a ‘POP!’ Sounds through the echo-y room.
“Hoorah!” He shouts, throwing his arms out wide in the air.
“You’re such a nerd!” You shout back.
“Whatever! Just fill my damn glass!” He shove the glasses in your face.
You stick your tongue out at him but do as he says, pouring the contents of the bottle out into the glasses.
After you fill each of them very generously to the half way point of the cups, you take a curious sip.
Your face contorts into a sour look.
“Ew! This is disgusting!”
“Really?” Kuroo asks, taking a cautious sip himself.
You watch as his face also turns sour.
“Oh my god thats horrible…”
You two stare at each other for a moment before bringing the glasses back up to your lips, both chugging the alcohol down, hoping to finish before the other one.
You finish your glass first and snatch the bottle off the floor, pouring another glass and doing the same thing.
He finished not long after you, waiting for you to fill your glass again before following your actions and refilling his.
After a few minutes of chugging down glasses you grab the bottle again, its empty.
“Damn!” You say, finally catching your breath.
You both are panting heavy at the lack of air intake.
“We finish it? Should be a few minutes before we start feeling it.” He finally says.
He was right.
10 minutes later you stand up to get some water to was the nasty after taste out of your mouth. But it hits you like a truck.
You wobble around for a second before giggling at your actions.
“Oop!” You slur out.
He laughs out behind you, standing to help you.
He trips slightly over his own foot, falling flat on to the ground.
Youre laughing so hard your stomach starts to hurt.
“Te- testu! Are- HAH are you okay?” You finally manage to ask through bursts of laughter.
He stands up, laughing just as hard as you.
“Yeah, im fine.” He says when he finally stands up straight.
He stumbles over to you.
“Where’s your speaker at?” He asks, brushing the front of his black t-shirt off.
You fumble around the counter, moving boxes around to find your bluetooth speaker.
You pull it out from behind a box and turn towards him.
“Here!” You hand it to him.
“Perfect..” he mumbles, fumbling in his pocket for his phone. He pulls it out and makes haste turning it on and connecting it.
A familiar song starts playing.
One that you two listened to on late night, alone in your old room.
Record old and scratchy, from your grandmothers collection.
You and Kuroo were far from just friends.
He was your first kiss, after all.
It happened when you were 14.
An off chance that kenma stayed home.
Kuroo had snuck a beer from his dads fridge the weekend prior, on a mandatory visit due to the divorce agreement.
He save it for this weekend hoping to share it with you and kenma, but kenma had a new game that had just released that day. He obviously had to play it right away.
You didn’t mind though, it was hard for you and Kuroo to find time to hangout just the two of you anymore.
You loved Kenma but Kuroo was your best friend first after all.
Kuroo stands up and reaches his arm out.
You grab it and stand up, facing him.
"So, I've been thinking, neither of us has kissed anyone yet," his face flushes and turns away from you as the words leave his mouth. "And it's probably better we get it out of the way before first year starts. That way we're not like, you know... behind?"
"Behind?" You ask.
"Yeah, all my friends on the volleyball team have had their first kisses and it's normal to do it. Plus we're best friends and friends can kiss too!" He says, a giant smile on his face.
"Friends... can kiss too?" You had never really thought about it like that, but you guess he's not wrong.
"Friends kiss all the time! It's normal in other cultures! Plus one little kiss couldn't hurt anybody," He leans forward to be slightly over you. "So? What'd ya' say?"
"Okay." you say quietly.
were you really about to kiss your best friend?
He leans forward and you close your eyes.
It was a quick and slobbery kiss to your lips.
He pulled away quickly. Unsure what to do next.
You blush and look away.
“Ok now we kissed so can we go back to what we were doing?
He laughs before sitting back down on your bed.
“Y/n?” Youre broken out of your train of thought by kuroo extending his hand out to you.
You grab it and he pulls you in close to his chest.
This was familiar.
You slightly inhale his smell while you adjust to the new position.
Your finger tips slowly trace up his arm, until your right hand meets his left one. He intertwines your fingers together.
At the same pace you slide your palm flat against his chest up to his shoulder.
He hums and closes his eyes and his right hand drops down to rest on your hip.
Kuroo enjoyed these moments. Slow and calming. They were a nice break from the busy schedule he had.
Everything and everyone around him was so intense all the time, but you? You had a way of stopping time and calming him down. And you didnt even have to do anything.
He begins swaying you two around languidly around the small kitchen.
Youre both humming to the tune of the song when he begins to sing softly.
“I practice every day, to find some clever lines to say, to make the meaning come true”
You giggle at his antics before joining in on his singing.
“But then I think I'll wait until the evening gets late and I'm alone with you”
Its now his turn to chuckle at you, he instead opts to spin you around.
“Oh!” You say at the sudden movement. Stumbling a bit he grabs your waist to steady you out.
“Sorry.” He says, wide eyes trained on you.
“It’s okay dont worry!,” You say, resuming the position you were in before. “Let’s keep dancing.”
He nods, continuing to sway around.
"Y/n." He says, the sudden seriousness in his voice sends a chill down your spine.
"Hm?" You hum back in response, focused on where your hand intertwines with his.
"You know, this isn't, normal for friends right?"
You knew that. You weren't stupid.
Sneaking kisses when nobody was looking, intertwining your pinkies while you guys walked together, cuddling up whenever you guys could. All these things were things that couples did. Not friends.
"What about it?" You ask and he finally stops swaying you around, lowering his other hand to rest on your other hip.
He takes in a deep breath and looks up at the ceiling. When he looks back down at you he begins to talk.
"So, maybe we should talk about it?"
You bring both your hands to smooth over the fabric on his shoulders.
"Do we have too? I like whatever this is." You huff out, now looking up to make eye contact.
He rolls his eyes.
"Yes! We obviously have too!" He's hurt at your response.
He would much rather be your boyfriend than best friend. In fact the idea of forever being whatever he was to you drove him crazy.
You step backwards a bit, breaking from his hold.
Obviously you want him to be more than your best friend, but was it worth it?
If you say no you risk losing him either way.
"Look, Tetsuro," He cuts you off before you can finish.
"If you're going to say no then you have to answer another question." His eyes hold an emotion you've only seen when he loses a match. Defeat. Like he's already accepted the fact you would turn him down.
"What is it?" You ask, curious as to what he wants to know.
"If you say no, then you have to tell me what all of this was then? All the late nights sneaking around, the long glances, the flirting, everything. What did it mean to you?"
The question begins ringing in your ears.
'What did it mean to you'
"Everything." it's a quiet whisper, you're not surprised he didn't hear you.
"What?" He says, voice low.
"It means everything to me. That's why I'm scared to do anything about it. It's so perfect right now, what if everything changes?"
He studies you for a moment. Obviously looking up and down.
You shy away slightly at the attention.
He just can't believe something so beautiful could casually stand around in front of him.
You're in old running shorts and one of his t-shirts. It was beaten up from years of use.
Once he grew out of it last year he finally gave it to you.
Your hair is messy and frizzy from the humidity of moving and drinking. Falling out of the bun you put it in lazily hours ago.
"I understand where you're coming from, but I can't just do this forever." His reply doesn't shock you. It isn't fair to ask him to wait forever. You know that.
"I know..." You sigh, looking down at your socks.
"Can you stop being so emo and just be my girlfriend?" He sighs loudly, taking a step forward, hands finding your hips again.
His tone is teasing but you know he means the words he's saying.
"Promise to not let it ruin what we have?"
"Hmmm....," He puts a finger up to his chin and taps it, like he's pondering the idea.
"We have to acknowledge that there will be certain risks, such as, since you'd be my girlfriend if anything happened between us I'd probably die of a broken heart, im pretty sure."
"Oh my god you are such a nerd Tetsu!" you playfully swat at his chest, laughing.
"Ok but seriously, be my girlfriend."
"I gotta think about it."
"There's nothing to think about, be my girlfriend."
"There's a lot to think about actually."
"How about, you say yes to being my girlfriend right now, then think about it later?"
"That makes no sense."
"Who cares?"
You didn't realize he'd be slowly leaning down with each question until you feel his breath on your face.
You can smell the alcohol from earlier on his lips.
"I care." Your voice is stern.
He backs up again, removing his hands from you and leaning back against the counter top.
He's so tall that the counter is in line with his hips. Making it the perfect resting spot for him.
You lean on the counter opposite from him. The kitchen is small so you guys are still close enough that your feet are touching.
You put some weight back on to your wrists, allowing you to lift your leg up and give a small kick to his shin.
He looks up at you, taking his focus from where your feet were once entangled.
"What?" He asks, a hint of attitude lacing his tone.
"Don't do that Tetsuro."
He doesn't respond, but instead rolls his eyes.
You huff, not caring to argue with him.
"Look, I'll be your girlfriend," You watch as his face perks up, he goes to say something but you're quick to shove your hand out in to his face to keep him quiet. "But, you have to make one promise."
You drop your hand, allowing him to respond.
"I'll do anything!"
"Okay, and I'm so serious about this. Like, this is do or die."
He nods his head up and down quickly, showing his blind alliance to whatever you were going to say.
"Okay, So, I need you to promise that you'll stop making corny science jokes all the time."
He stops moving to stare at you, popping a brow up at you In annoyance.
"That's it?"
You nod 'yes' quickly.
"No can do sweetheart. Science jokes are baller."
He rolls his eyes again, grabbing you and pulling you back into him.
Your words are muffled due to him holding your face into his chest.
"And you can't say 'baller' to describe things anymore!"
"Uh-Uh! You're asking too much of me!"
He lets your head go and move your head back to look up at him.
"Fine, I'll be your girlfriend. No conditions."
"Swear?" A cheesy grin overtakes his face.
"Yeah. Swear."
He leans over, grabbing your face in both his hands, squishing your cheeks until you're lips poke out.
A giant wet kiss lands on your lips and he makes a show of popping his lips with a 'MWUAH'! He drops your face and you wipe the excess spit off your mouth.
"Okay one condition, you have got to stop giving such wet kisses! It's gross!"
He just laughs, signaling that won't happen anytime soon.
"Too late you already said swear."
You roll your eyes and push his chest a bit, finally going to grab a glass of water.
You guess having him as your boyfriend couldn't be so bad.

Many things I want to say, I hope I won't forget anything. I'm not part of any mob. It's just me, one tiny blog that if people had taken the time to look at they'd see how little I post. Please, do take a look at my archive. At the beginning I had made only three posts about TDP. I'm not a blog dedicated to this show. If the first blog that reblogged my post hadn't done that I bet no one would had noticed my words. I didn't want this to blow even more so I had muted that post. I'm still getting notifications, so I guess the muting didn't cover my reblog too. I would like to mute the whole thing now because the more I reply the more it will really look as if I were part of that mob. And I don't have the time nor the interest in making a campaign against the show. I just wanted to speak my mind and that be it. Btw, taking a quick look I saw someone saying that if I don't like the show then just don't watch it. I did take it out of my list after I finished the season. I'm genuinely surprised when I read you saying that there's a mob wanting the cancellation of the show. At Rotten Tomatoes it is rated with a 100% likes. At twitter I just found three comments in Aaron's tweets. And a couple of videos at YouTube. All these expressing their discontent, not promoting cancelation. Maybe that mob is mainly just on Tumblr? If anyone reading knows of a website or an app that helps finding a person's comments on other people's posts on Tumblr, check me. I'm not on the look out for new posts related to the show, throwing hate on those who think different than what I think. I don't do that. I see your point in how my words are contradicting themselves. What I meant was this. If they have material that cannot be covered in say 5 seasons, they need 10. Ok. Go, present your project and leave it there. I don't like when they see their show doing good and then extend it more and more seasons. Stretching the story through filler episodes.
The show premiered in September 2018. That's 6 years, 4 moths ago. For 5 years, 10 months it was going to be 7 seasons long. People has complained about how the story slowed down after season 3. If there hadn't been filler episodes I would had thought "Ok, no biggie, they just didn't plan correctly". But those filler episodes,... it's hard not to think that they are trying to stretch the story as much as possible to get as many seasons approved as possible. To gain as much as possible. Filler episodes don't contribute to the development of the story. They build nothing or very little. Now, how to stretch the story and not get the fans bored? That's what I was talking about when I first wrote about them just giving us cute moments with our favorite ships. It's no secret Netflix in general only approves 3 seasons. They approve more only if a show is doing incredibly well. There have been many shows that even after ending in a cliffhanger they didn't get approved. This is no secret. Aaron cannot claim ignorance on this. They could had ended the story in season 7 as they had originally planned. They could had chosen not to slow the pace. They took the risk of not getting renewed. With that tweet Aaron is trying to get the fandom to pressure Netflix into approving more. Sorry but he do is manipulating the fans here. I think it's so clear I don't understand how people are choosing not to see this. About what you wrote about offering criticism. I did write a previous post mentioning some points about season 7. Previous seasons to that I didn't have the blog to write them on. In this previous post there's something that will be contradictory big time: Among other things I wrote how the show deserved a better planned ending or end it with a movie. At that point I didn't know Aaron wanted that 3rd arc. Someone's comment on my post made me aware of it. I checked his twitter and saw that message from him. My head went through all those thoughts that I explained after the Facebook screenshot. I got mad at him. Again, he could had chosen to stick to his original 7 seasons plan. (Sorry to be repetitive) If every episode had been loaded with things that were really building the story then I wouldn't had gotten mad. It would had been bad planning. I cannot see how this is not greed from his part. That's what changed my mind from "come on, at least one movie to give us closure", to "no, no green light so other show creators don't start doing the same". As I mentioned in my first post, this is not the first show to do this. There is one other who has been using this same technique. It is frustrating seeing a show starts being so good and then slowly turn into this. "What? Did I say 3 seasons? No I meant 7." Then on season 6 "Did I say 7? I meant 10". The story is affected by this stretching but most of the fandom are so obsessed they don't see that. They don't care. It's frustrating seeing this. Do you really think ATLA would had been as epic as it was if that same story had been dragged for 10 seasons? That's what I'm against of. That's my reasoning. @lawchan89 I never wrote that they don't deserve to have jobs. Don't change my words please. I agree that there is a lot of unhealthy toxic behavior is going on in social media. Believe me when I say part of me wishes there were no social media at all. Or at least that creators didn't listen to it. On one hand because there are some who have altered their stories just to do fan service. On the other hand because all that fanatism is what fuels this never ending series. "The fans are loving it! See how you can stretch the story!" I did say I didn't like season 7. And as I said before I had muted the notifications. (didn't know I also needed to mute my reblog or I wouldn't had seen both of your comments) I did remove the show from my list. I seriously think a future trailer could make me want to retake the series. There's a chance this will start more reblogs from other ppl. I don't want to keep this soup cooking any longer. So I may need to mute this too.
Thanks for reading.
It is normal to develop some emotional attachment to fictional characters in a TV show or a book. It is not nice of him to use that attachment to keep his show going, to keep making profits.
This is not the first time a show creator does this. They add beautiful moments with the couples that we love to keep us obsessed and asking for more. And there we go falling for this manipulative trick. I’m so glad I found that tweet by Alexandria. Be conscious of this people and have a little bit of pride in yourselves. Don’t let them use you to keep making more money.
Seven seasons was more than enough to develop a great story with a satisfying ending. I’m sorry but I hope Netflix won’t greenlight more. Creators and producers need to stop doing this.

I gotcha cap ( Steve Rogers x Reader )
Summary: it wasn't lost on anyone that Steve was a technophobe, who wanted to gain a grasp of the modern world, it just didn't help the little infatuation he had on his teacher.
Warnings : none , fluffy, mutual pinning , idiots in love. this is 2 or 3 parts
If anything America's golden boy and one of Earth's most prolific heroes needed improvements on was ...well the technology. Even though he'd be out of the ice long enough, the modern inventions just were something he didn't get the hang of. Of course, he'd asked his fellow Avengers, bucky was just as clueless as he was so was Thor to be fair. Natasha just outright refused her only argument for the rejection was simple
" For my sanity and your safety "
Tony was a no-go for his safety. The kid well he did try but ended up more confused at the slang the kids were using these days needing maybe a whole new lesson.
The best was of course last, Y/n. the newest addition although she'd been there two years now. She was up there with Tony probably even better when it came to anything electronic. She was able to hack the billionaire, only being caught because she wanted to. The company she was working at wasn't fully what she thought but hey it's why she took the job. She was an independent investigator that well noticed the fast rise of a company that seemed too perfect. So she got a job jumping through the hurdles, using her charm and charisma to integrate into the company and earn their trust then slowly she began to uncover the seedy secret they tried so hard to keep away. The wannabes were trying to be Hydra 2.0 only they didn't expect this newbie, the new office pet to uncover it all and drag them down with the click of her keyboard. The rest was history, now here she was living in the compound working in the lab with Tony and Bruce getting them intel and making missions that bit easier. The daughter of a former doomsday prepper and the skills she acquired of being alone well it was all that made her qualify and her enhancements helped to although that was a new title when she was growing up it was mutant. her father was one to hence why he was so paranoid , so ready to live in a bunker for safety of his family only to be the problem.
Y/n was sweet, she was friendly and patient. She was also funny, bold not afraid to speak her mind, strong worker. The beauty was everything and more that Steve Rogers could want so that infatuation had him almost nervous, yes nervous to ask her to help him with his problem. Thanks to Natasha's meddling he didn't have to ask because she took it upon herself to do so for him. A rare day off here he stood at the door of the main living room watching her setting up the various machines on the coffee table. The smile on her face was so bright and warm when she turned it made Shakespeare's words make sense. The way that smile was like a summer day. She was just simply an angel of perfection in his eyes, one that made his old self, the man before the serum who could barely look a dame in the eye or one that made his words jumble or stumble and stutter in a normal conversation. Professionally he was ok although he was still nervous but he was able to communicate clearly. Now here he was for a private lesson in modern technology with a woman who could render him speechless. This was gonna be hell, he was sure of it. Just as sure he was gonna make a fool of himself.
" hey steve ... cap?" she called making him stand straight .
" yes , yep hey " he smiled although forced through the flush of his cheek , in the start of what would be a barrage of self beratement .. internally of course .
" you ready " she smiled looking down at the table slight fixing the things laptop , phone and game console ? .
" yes sorry nats making you do this " he sat near her not too close but thanks to his enhanced senses he was encase in her scent .
" she not making me do it , dont worry cap i got you " she laughed . " ok i know you can write a report on the computer" she asked .
" y-yeah i can do the report but i because it like already there , tony made sure it the only thing so i just click , type and send " he nodded rubbing back of his neck .
" what about texting ? " she asked .
" no really well sort of " he shrugged .
" ok well we can go over the basics, if you don't understand anything don't be afraid to tell me so we will start with the phone from functions to standard apps " she smiled pulling the box out . " here this is for you " she handed it over .
" you got me a phone " .
"yeah, and I got you this ... open it " a mischievous smile on her face as she handed it over. Opened the paper and saw the blue red and white stars. It was like his shield but like a phone case. " I was gonna get you one online but I thought I'd make one a lot more sturdy and super soldier-friendly i got bucky to test it out in the testing phase".
Steve was speechless for maybe longer than he should of and for a new reason. Almost bashful looking down at it in his hand. So touched by the fact she took the time to craft and test this. The fact she took time to personalize it just for him.
" this is amazing thank you really " .
" no need to thank me cap i gotcha " she winked making his cheeks heat up.
The two sat while she slowly helped him set up the new phone, patiently step by step guiding him through what to do. In that time the space between the two, closer and closer while looking down at this device. The way she explained it to him and if or when he got confused she would show him again and again til he did. At one point the team stood at the door out of view of the two all sharing a knowing look. Peter took a few pictures maybe one to show them later in life. The way her attention was solely on the man although she could sense the extra eye and sure that the man at her side could feel them too.
" hey wanna continue this in my office" she smiled softly .
" yeah let's get this stuff " he stood quickly grabbing the different things scattered around them almost dropping them in his quest. Walking side by side and out of prying eyes they got to continue the lessons. He took a look around her office, her personal space. Little knick-knacks, pictures that all screamed her . Then when he looked at the computer slightly embarrassed in his own knowing how simple everyone had made it for him, how Tony made things easy from comms and devices nothing complicated more things only with a button or two. All the different little pictures or icons he recently learned scattered about. Now he knew he wasn't going to be some tech wizard but at least he wouldn't be clueless. More and more time he was less nervous he still was to a certain degree.
Weeks and weeks turned into months of lessons scattered between missions, meetings and public events. Although his knowledge of this was rusty, it was also still a vast improvement. Their communication improved and made her giggle when she would see at the end of each text -steve rogers. She tried to express that he didn't need to sign off on messages but she found it endearing in a way and completely, utterly adorable. She looked forward to the lesson, being in such a close space as Steven Grant Rogers was like a dream.
The blonde adonis was maybe the first and only crush she had had in such a long time. From his smile to his muscles that strained against the fabric. From his sweet and soft manner of Steve, to the strong protective manner and commanding presence that was Captain America it was virtually impossible not to fall for the man. Often thinking would he be Steve or cap between the sheets til she berated herself for thinking of a coworker, a teammate and a friend in such a way but on the same page she couldn't help the thought be in her mind.

Hey hey! Could i request a shadow x college student who took him in and try’s to encourage him to be more outgoing/friendly with the others? I keep thinking about how cute it would be to sorta babysit the whole bunch for Maddie and Tom, and Shadow get roped into the friendship. He deserves the best support system☹️❤️!!
tonight, tonight *ೃ༄
pairing *ೃ༄ shadow the hedgehog x reader [can be read as platonic or romantic]
fic type *ೃ༄ one-shot, reverse-comfort
cw *ೃ༄ nothing !
summary *ೃ༄ you help shadow come out of his shell.
note *ೃ༄ sorry this took so long anon! i've been busy these past couple weeks.. | I had fun writing this especially after watching sonic 3, he deserves the world !!!
masterlist *ೃ༄
Being a college student was no easy feat. Assignments and deadlines filled up your time and often left you feeling burnt out, but you always managed to pull through. If there was anything you’d learned from being at school for this long, it was that you couldn’t give up because you’d always make it in the end anyway. It was just the process of getting there that you hated.
Shadow was about the only one who could allow you to escape the stressful confines of your dorm. You had met him on one of your nightly walks to de-stress after the hectic events of the day. Hour-long lectures and energy drinks for breakfast weren’t exactly the most desirable position to be in. As you were planning out your week, calculating how much time each assignment needed and what instructions were given, you bumped into an unfamiliar creature : A Hedgehog.
It struck you as a peculiar happenstance, given that he was on college grounds. He didn’t seem like he was a student. Of course, you could have just ignored him and went on with your night, but something in you wouldn’t let you. Since that day, the two of you have been inseparable. You weren’t exactly startled by his existence given that before you met him, Tom and Maddie asked you to ‘babysit’ Sonic and the others while they went out. Though your schedule was a bit stressful because of your college work, you always accepted.
And now, since Shadow had become part of your life, he sometimes tagged along when you went over to the Wachowski residence. Sonic, Knuckles and Tails behaved fairly well for the most part (you were thankful for that), but there was always one thing that nagged at you : your black and red quilled hedgehog friend who always seemed to be off in his own world despite being in the same room as the others.
Shadow had told you about his past after about a year of staying with you, but that didn’t mean you wanted him to feel isolated when everyone else was having fun. You weren’t exactly the best at comfort, but you couldn’t just leave him like that. So you decided to address it before heading over there.
Shadow was munching on a handful of coffee beans when you entered the kitchen. You were dressed casually and ready to go out. “Shadow,” you spoke as you turned on the stove to boil a bit of water for a cup of coffee.
“What is it?” His eyes drifted to you, he was sitting at the small kitchen table. Your apartment wasn’t big but it was something at least. Shadow was grateful.
“Do you want a cup of coffee?” You asked while you leaned on the counter, your arms crossed. You weren’t sure how to approach it, you couldn’t exactly just tell him to socialize. In your experience, that never worked on you so it definitely wouldn’t work on him. So how..?
“Yes, I’d appreciate that.” Shadow nodded and kept eating away at his coffee beans. You’d gotten used to his short answers but sometimes, they weren’t the best for serious conversations like these.
“Are you going to come with me to Maddie’s?” you inquired, your voice a little softer than usual.
Shadow nodded, “Yes, I will be accompanying you tonight. Someone has got to keep those dimwits in check.” You chuckled at his insults and a small smile tugged at your lips. The time wasn't right, it felt too abrupt to just bring it up out of nowhere. So you made a note to bring it up later, at the right moment. After a cup of coffee with your hedgehog companion, the two of you were off to the Wachowski household.
The afternoon was calm. It was accompanied with the soft caresses of the wind and the warm beams of sunlight. You knocked on the door and waited for an answer, continuing your conversation with Shadow until Maddie answered the door.
“You’re right on time, come on in!” Maddie greeted, opening the door to let the two of you in. You thanked her and greeted the ever-energetic hedgehog who whizzed up in front of you in a matter of seconds.
“We’ll be back around ten-thirty, alright?” Tom told you. You nodded, “Yep, I promise to keep everyone on their best behavior.” The couple smiled in acknowledgement and told Sonic and the others the usual ‘behave or you’re grounded’ spiel before disappearing into one of Sonic’s rings.
“You guys wanna have a movie marathon or board games?” you asked the four of them, Shadow was still at your side with his arms crossed.
“How about, Board games first n’ then a movie marathon?” Sonic suggested, his hands on his hips.
“That sounds great!” Tails chimed in, “Agreed.” added Knuckles.
Sonic went to go get the board games out of the cabinet while everyone else cleared the table, Shadow was quiet as always. “You’re joining right?”
“Do you want me to?” Shadow helped you carry some cups to the sink.
You nudged him, “I’m asking what you want.”
He pondered for a moment. “I am unfamiliar with the games.” He didn’t seem sad about it but a little ..lost? This did not deter you though.
“I’ll teach you, I promise it’ll be fun.” you beamed.
“.. Are you sure?” Shadow asked, avoiding eye contact. It was a thing he did when he was uncertain of something. But you only nodded and guided his gaze back to you. You knew he was unsure about how the others would react to his participation.
“I’m more than sure.”
After the table was cleared, there was a mountain of games at the side of the table; Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and you sat at the surrounding edges of the table, seated on the couch. “Since Shadow’s joining this time,” You began as you reached for the deck of cards on the table. “I was thinking we could play uno first, how's that?”
“Shadow’s joining?” Sonic asked with a surprised look on his face, “This’ll be fun.” Shadow only huffed and crossed his arms. Shadow only acted as if the blue hedgehogs remarks meant nothing because on the inside, he was grateful that they weren’t opposed to having him in the game.
“I look forward to winning against all of you,” said Knuckles while donning a determined expression.
“That’s ambitious.” said Shadow, “Dream on!” chimed Tails. Everyone seemed pumped and the environment felt warm. You were glad to see Shadow stepping out of his comfort zone. You split the cards while you explained the rules of the game to Shadow as well as the purpose of the different cards. Shadow listened intently and admired your expertise at card-shuffling.
“Alright, everyone count if you’ve got seven cards.” you said as you looked through your cards.
“Are we betting anything?” Sonic asked playfully.
“No, we are not betting anything, this is a game not gambling.” You rolled your eyes, “Plus, I'm a broke college student — the most I can give is like ten bucks.” Sonic and the others laughed at your half-joke. You reached for the deck and turned a card over, a six and the color blue present on the card.
After a long round of rock, paper, scissors, it was decided that Tails would start first and it would go clockwise. The game, despite being a practice round, went on for quite a long time — Though that was to be expected, given that it was the five of you who were playing. Tails ended up winning and the night went on smoothly.
Shadow was quite competitive and he ended up winning the two rounds afterwards, much to Sonic’s dismay. You were happy to see this side of Shadow, he seldom went out of his way to interact with others. It was your influence on him and your encouraging nature that allowed him to step out of his comfort.
It was about eight in the evening when Shadow was helping you make snacks for the movie marathon. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were bickering over which movie to watch but you didn’t pay much mind to it. “You were great at Uno, I was surprised. It was your first time right?” You mashed the avocados with the mortar and pestle; Everyone had agreed on guacamole as the snack of the night.
Shadow nodded in response to your question, “I’m a quick learner, the game was relatively simple.”
Shadow added the minced tomatoes into the avocado mix. “I’m proud of you, y’know.” you spoke quietly but your words were warm. It was an exchange just between the two of you. Shadow began chopping up the cilantro as you spoke. “I know it isn’t easy, but I’m proud of you.”
His chopping slowed, “.. I’m not a social being, But..” He inhaled slowly before sighing. “Your efforts in encouraging me to engage with others were helpful.” You smiled at his words and listened earnestly, mixing in the ingredients he poured. “Playing board games with everyone today.. It reminded me of Maria.”
Your smile was one of understanding as you gazed down at the black hedgehog. He was reserved most of the time, but today he did something he wasn’t usually comfortable with. Your warm nature helped him creep out of his shell and enjoy himself. It helped him remember the lost moments with the person he held dearest to his heart.
“I remembered the joy I felt with her.. It was so easy then.” He spoke, a sorrowful smile on his lips.
“It might not be easy now, but it isn’t unreachable. Okay?” You washed your hands and dried them before bending down to give him a hug. He let go of the knife and accepted your warm hug. He closed his eyes before enclosing his own arms around you. Even though both of your lives were stressful, he had you and you had him.
No matter what, the two of you helped each other up when the other was down. The support you’d given him these past two years — he’d remember it and cherish it.
He decided then that he would do the same for you too.

egg 10 maybe!!
OH MY GOODNESS THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE EGGS ON THE WHOLE GAME. [Sorry it took me 57 years to answer, this was a long one.]
The Ouran Host Club welcomes a Little! Guest Headcanons.
[Minus Honey, he's baby.]
[Gender Neutral Pronouns Used. Trying my best to stay neutral so it fits for any regression age/experience.]
Tamaki Suoh:
Tamaki would be so excited to find out he had a little one as his guest. What's not to like? He'd get to pay them extra attention, spoil them with gifts and all sorts of things. He'd be the host to choose if you want to feel like the spotlight is on you!
He loves to be so over the top and extravagant. He'd have little tea parties with you, and of course, he'd go all out. He'd make little menus for the guests at your tea party, have the teas and orderves catered for you, and of course: use very beautifully painted plastic china [just so there's no accidents or nothing breaks!]
He calls you every nickname under the sun, but he loves flower names! "Rose/Rosey" "Lavender/Lav/Lavvy" "Sunflower/Sunny." He just sees you as a beautiful flower to be treasured forever, and his nicknames for you represent that. But of course, there's always "Princess/Prince/Monarch," those are classics.
He'd be so indulgent if you liked to play games. He'd make sure he knew whatever you were in the mood to play, and if the other hosts were playing too, he made sure they knew your rules, too.
"No, Haruhi! The little one is playing Littlest Pet Shops." He turns to you, asking if he may move where you've placed them, and after receiving a nod from you, he holds a few up to Haruhi. "This is Daisy, and she works at the café. Jaime and Adeline are here customers. And these dogs over here are all a friend group, and they're at the park, because they've already had their lunch, you see?" [He's so into whatever his baby is. Agh, I love him.]
Tamaki likes to give you a rattle, if you're very little. Or, if you're a bit older, a toy that makes noise, or a loud fidget toy, whatever you may like to keep you occupied. He likes to know where you are. The music room is large, especially with all the guests that come in there. He could lose his little one! And he can't have that.
Piano Lullabies before bed/naptimes. And if you feel like it, he'd give you piano lessons as well. He'd let you sit on his lap to learn, and put your hands on top of his to learn the keys!
Kyoya Ootori:
His initial reaction to having a little guest would be one of confusion, and perhaps a bit of fear? He's heard of age regression, but doesn't exactly understand the technicalities of it quite well. He'd be afraid that he may mess up, or make you upset by accident, and that's the last thing he wants. He asks Tamaki for advice before feeling more comfortable.
Kyoya would be a more quiet, and laid back caregiver. He'd love to give you activity sheets that fit well for your regression age: whether they be preschool activity sheets or complicated word puzzles, he believes in helping you learn while having fun. But he won't just simply sit you down with a worksheet. No, he makes them himself. If you have a comfort character, or favorite colors, he keeps those things in mind when making them for you! He also will sit and help you do it while guiding you through each step. He loves bonding over the things he makes for you.
Kyoya would have more traditional nicknames: "Sweetheart." "Dear/Dearest." "My lovely [name]" "My Little Lady, My Little Gentleman, My Littlest One."
Kyoya would not be good at playing, I don't think. His hidden talent is that he's very, very good at reading you stories. The way he tells them makes you feel like you could reach out, and touch the events the words of the pages are unfolding. His favorite book to read of all? Alexander and The Wind Up Mouse, only to be tied with Chrysanthemum. Both of which are the books he reads best, too.
"The next day," Kyoya read as he snuggled his little closer to him. "Chrysanthemum took the longest route to school. She dragged her feet in the dirt... Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum..." Kyoya filled each time her name was mentioned with dread, including a sigh on the end each time to show the weight of the scene. He looks down at you before he continues. "Don't worry..." He smiles. "I think she'll feel better soon. Shall we find out together, dearest?"
Kyoya has a very good singing voice. He'll sing you a love song or a lullaby to calm you after a hard day. Or, he also loves to comb your hair to help you relax if you're okay with that.
Haruhi Fujioka:
Haruhi's initial reaction to finding out a little guest had chosen her would be shock. She's perfectly capable of taking care of a little one, and she regresses herself too. She'd especially understand if you regressed out of stress, or as a trauma response. No matter the circumstances though, I feel like she'd be a good person to handle a little one!
Haruhi would like to do things with you her mother did with her growing up. She'd love to teach you how to bake cookies, or make simple meals. She'd love to give you classic toys if you were younger [a yoyo, a teddy bear, building blocks, one of those things where you drop the shape in the right hole, a ring stacker.] She'd have a much more simplistic approach. She likes to keep you off screens, [minus your comfort shows/games] though. She feels like littles have enough of that in their big lives.
She calls you petnames like "Baby Girl/Baby Boy/Babycakes." She also likes the nickname "cookie."
Haruhi would be okay at engaging in what you wanted to do. I feel like it would depend for her. The littler you were, the harder it would be for her to engage. Even though she regresses very young herself, she had to grow up super fast, so in her big headspace, she cannot comprehend how to begin playing with toys. However, if you were doing something like playing a game, she'd understand that, and try to help you! She'd be good no matter what if you were frustrated, though.
"You want me to play?" Haruhi asks as she sits on the floor with you, and looks at what you're doing. "I'm so sorry, cookie... I don't really know how to play all that well... Oh, it's blocks? Let me see." After explaining your problem, Haruhi understands. "Ah, I see! You're building the tower too high without a strong base! That's why it won't stay up." She explains. "Here, want to try building it that way to see if it works? I'm here with you..."
If you are a fussy little, you've come to the right place. Haruhi wins out of everyone here for the best to deal with tantrums, fussiness, etc. She'll sit with you and comfort you until you're better. She has lots, and lots of patience, and would never rush your feelings.
Hikaru & Kaoru Hitachiin:
I feel like their reaction to having a little guest would be sweet. They'd see it as an opportunity to make a new friend, and they're a bit childish themselves! I feel like they'd both really enjoy it! I see them as big sibling CGs.
They're the trademark bad influence CGs. They'd help you play [innocent] pranks on the rest of the host club. They'd be laughing about how you made Tamaki sit on a whoopee cushion for weeks. They train you to be their little apprentice in mischief.
They call you lots of gender neutral petnames! "Pumpkin." "Cutie-Pie." "Kiddo." "Snuggle Bug/Bugaboo." "Troublemaker."
They may be full of jokes, but they're serious when it comes to protecting you from what you're afraid of. They don't like for anything to scare their little partner in crime.
A loud burst was suddenly heard across the host club. You whipped your head to see what it was. It was a balloon that they had for The Host Club's party. It had gotten too close to the chandelier, and burst. You started to tear up and cry at the sudden loud noise.
"Oh, little one..." Kaoru says, covering your ears gently and taking you somewhere quiet. "It's okay," he covers your ears just enough so you can still hear the two of them.
"Yeah, bugaboo. There are no balloons in here. We'll make sure one doesn't pop near you again." Hikaru reassured them gently.
They're the best at teaching you about problem solving. They give you accommodations for yourself and solutions you never once thought of. The kind that provokes yourself to take care of yourself in the ways they do.
Takashi Morinozuka
His reaction would be outwardly stoic [as it is to just about everything.] He'd actually be kind of excited at the familiarity of the situation, and hopeful that perhaps Honey can have a playmate.
He's the strict caregiver of the group. He'd make sure you had enough to eat, drink, that you had taken your necessary medicines if you needed any. He'd also keep one eye on you to make sure you weren't doing anything that may potentially hurt you.
He's not good with petnames, they're not his thing. He does always like the ever classic "little one" though.
Mori is a walking first aid kit. If you ever need anything like a bandage for a little booboo, he'd have it. Or perhaps, you have a chronic illness that flares up from time to time. He'd have you rest, but he'd made the recovery process fun.
Mori noticed you looked a little bit... out of it today. It wasn't just this moment he felt like that, it had been all day. "Hey, little one? Are you not feeling well... you don't seem to be acting like yourself?" He nodded at your answer. "I see... Perhaps it's time for some bed rest." He leads you to a private room with a bed, but sneaks you a cookie as a reward for getting some rest. "This stays between us, okay?"
Mori helps you understand how important self care is, and he's happy that he made such a positive impact on your life from hanging out with him a few days a week. It means a lot of him.

WIP whenever
An out of the blue reblog (thank you!) of my Fathers’ Day story suddenly got me back on the Jeff train for the duration of my train journey… given I’m not sure how long this ticket is valid for I’ll post as far as I’ve got…
💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙
“Dad! Are you alright? Do you need anything?”
Jeff staggered backwards slightly - he hadn’t been expecting the door to open within less than a second of his finally summoning up the courage to knock and realised belatedly he’d been relying on a few extra moments to summon up the next bit to actually explain why he was there.
Scott caught his arm under the elbow and steadied him. Jeff murmured a jumbled mess of syllables which fell midway between “thank you, I’m fine” and “sorry to disturb you” and felt a little cold sweat prickle as he realised he was still looking intently at the doorframe, at that puzzling crack through the lock, rather than at the person he had come here to see.
Jeff lifted his gaze as far as his son’s cheekbones and hesitated. With a shiver of guilt he realised that not since that first moment… that moment time stood still as he caught his son’s wrist and saw only a lost little boy staring up at him… since then he hadn’t let himself look properly, hadn’t let himself maintain eye contact with his eldest. Not for the whole time he’d been back.
Too afraid that he’d see her.
Even more afraid that he wouldn’t.
Get a grip, Tracy. It’s just your little boy.
He steeled himself to make the infinitesimal shift to meet Scott’s eyes, for only the second time in eight years… perhaps even sixteen… and sure enough there she was, staring directly into Jeff’s soul from behind that blue tinted glass.
How was it possible to feel both elation and despair simultaneously?
Scott’s frown deepened and the bemused and concerned curiosity hardened into cobalt lasers of assessment as he took charge.
“You look a little pale, Dad. Come and sit down.”
“Can we talk?” Jeff finally managed to push the three tiny words out just as they became unnecessary. Scott startled a little and blinked rapidly.
“Um, of course whatever you need. But… sitting down. You need to sit down.”
“Alright.”
Jeff allowed himself to be led into the room and looked around with interest. It was essentially unchanged in all those years but for a new blanket, some extra cushions and a lot of extra art on the walls, all undoubtedly Virgil’s except for the collection clustered into the relatively small space between the closet and the bed which proved to be the more childish efforts of others, the cracking finger paint and fading crayon carefully preserved with clear glass frames.
He suppressed a groan as he lowered himself into the big blue armchair and let the cane fall to the floor beside. Scott picked it up and propped it against the wall behind. Accessible, but out of sight.
His eldest son perched on the edge of the bed and looked at him calmly and attentively. Jeff wasn’t fooled - he could see the tension around the jaw which betrayed the anxiety Scott was hiding and wondered if the son could recognise the same in his father’s face.
A deep breath.
“You’re not in trouble, son.”
